This 50㎡ house is located in Baoshan District, Shanghai. The owner wants to have two rooms so that his parents can come to live there during the Chinese New Year. The designer opened the north balcony to make multiple open functional areas, which met the needs of parents for a small living. The migration line was connected to the living room, and the space became brighter and more transparent, which improved the storage space and added a liftable table. Before the renovation:

. Although the house is in a north-south layout, it is not transparent, and the lighting is blocked, and even the living room is gray.

. One-font layout, it is difficult to change the space.

. The bedroom door and the bathroom door are adjacent to each other, and are blocked, and the bathroom is not used to maximize the use.

. There is little storage space and the items are placed in a mess. After the renovation, we implemented the following transformation ideas in terms of solution consideration and final completion methods:

. Break down the north balcony wall to make a multi-open functional area, the migration line is connected to the living room, forming a composite space, with a liftable table, which can be used as a tea room and a parent's living room or storage.

. The walls of the original kitchen were demolished, which not only increased lighting, but also expanded the originally crowded countertops into a more efficient U-shaped countertop.

. The kitchen wall plus the bedroom door changes, so that the wall on the west is directly flattened and designed to create a flush design, which increases storage space while not showing a small crowd. In addition, the bathroom door opening shifts northward, making the space use surplus.

. The whole house is mainly wood and white, with gentle and elegant colors and natural warm logs, giving people a warm and comfortable experience.

The designers fully integrate the living and dining room, and on this basis arrange the multi-functional room into an interactive public space. It not only ensures good ventilation and lighting of the space to the greatest extent, shaping the smoothness and transparency of the space, but also allowing family members to present their lifestyles more freely.

For small apartments, the use of foldable furniture makes the space more flexible and free. The sofa in the living room is not only good-looking, but also has storage capacity. A large-capacity storage box is designed under the seat. The double seat capacity is about 240L, which is comparable to a large storage cabinet and is convenient for storage. The fabric sofa cushion and solid wood frame combine to make the living room clean and elegant.
