As we all know, the long life of resin tile is not only related to the base material, but also closely related to the engineering resin on the surface. In addition to being anti-ultraviolet rays and fade, the surface resin must also have fire-proof and anti-aging functions.
There are now many manufacturers on the market who "work hard" on the surface engineering resin raw materials in order to save costs. In addition to the most commonly used ASA engineering resin, there is also an ABS engineering resin on the market. The market price of ASA reaches more than 30,000 and nearly 40,000 per ton, while the market price of ABS is only a few thousand yuan per ton, which is relatively cheap. How big can the performance differences be under a very similar appearance? Let me analyze the differences between the two in detail below.
ABS Basic performance
1. The deformation temperature is low when heated, but the heat resistance ABS can reach 115℃ and the embrittlement temperature is -7℃;
2. When encountering a fire source, it will burn, and the combustion level is only HB;
3. Poor weather resistance.
The resin tiles on the surface layer look very similar to those on the ASA resin tiles. During the production process, if this surface material is used, the thickness of the weather-resistant layer of the plate is insufficient or uneven, which will lead to problems such as fading, deformation, and brittle cracking. Moreover, once the fire source comes into contact, the fire will not have a flame retardant effect and will not meet the residential fire protection standards.
ASA basic performance
1. Compared with ABS, ASA has introduced acrylate rubber , so weather resistance has undergone essential changes, which is about 10 times higher than ABS. The fire resistance level is B1, which is flame retardant and meets the basic residential fire protection requirements;
2. ASA resin tiles are exposed to sunlight for 9 to 15 months, and the impact strength and elongation rate have almost no decrease, and the color has almost no change;
3. Due to the special structure and composition of ASA resin, ASA's weather resistance is ten times that of ABS. Whether it is impact resistance, weather resistance and high temperature resistance, ASA is above ABS.
Therefore, when choosing synthetic resin tiles, you must choose resin tiles that use ASA as the surface coating, so as to ensure the service life of the resin tiles and the overall appearance.
