Even if there are buds on the branches and cannot bloom normally, do not cut them, because pruning stimulates the flow of nutrients. After cutting, the rose may grow new buds.
Sometimes in winter, bamboo shoot buds will grow from the roots. If bamboo shoot buds grow, Blue Demon recommends that you don’t care about it either. If bamboo shoot buds grow taller, you can trim them together during winter cuts. Because since roses can grow bamboo shoot buds, it means that the environment is suitable for growth. Even if the temperature drops soon, the bamboo shoot buds of the rose will be frostbitten, and more bamboo shoot buds will grow in spring.
2. New sprouts appeared after re-cut
There are many flower lovers who see that the weather is cooling down and think about pruning the rose, or because of the poor growth of the rose and serious diseases, they re-cut the rose in late autumn or just winter.
Although the temperature is relatively low at this time, the rose is still growing slowly. After re-cutting, the bud points of the rose will gradually germinate. In the real winter, the new buds of the rose will grow like in spring, February and March, which is a headache.
If you encounter this phenomenon, if possible, Lan Yao recommends that you place it on the indoor balcony to maintain it, keep it warm, so that the new sprouts will continue to grow, and the new sprouts will not be frozen, and they will bloom the same when they grow.
However, if you can only keep it outdoors and it is very cold in winter, it is likely to be frozen. After a new branch of roses grows for one section, if it is frostbite in winter, leave 0.5cm or 2 bud points during pruning. After spring, new buds can still grow again.
