Liu Siqi, also known as Liu Songlin, was born in Hubei on March 2, 1930, wife of Mao Anying, daughter of martyr Liu Qianchu and Zhang Wenqiu. Liu Siqi's mother Zhang Wenqiu was Mao Zedong's revolutionary comrade-in-arms. In 1927, at the Fifth Congress of the Communist Party of China held in Wuhan, Mao Zedong met Zhang Wenqiu and said: If you give birth to a daughter, we will "marry family".

In 1946, Mao Anying secretly returned to Yan'an , and went to work in the countryside as instructed by his father. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Mao Anying served as the deputy secretary of the Party branch of the Beijing General Machinery Factory. In October 1949, Mao Anying and Liu Siqi got married in the west room of Juxiang Bookstore, Zhongnanhai. The sisters' common mother, Zhang Wenqiu, was an early member of the Communist Party of China. She had worked in the party's underground for many years and was an old revolutionary. Zhang Wenqiu has experienced the pain of losing two husbands and being imprisoned twice in her revolutionary career, but she has always been loyal to her ideals. Her two daughters were married to Mao Zedong's two sons, so she was Mao Zedong's "twin-child family".

Liu Siqi's father Liu Qianchu was Mao Zedong's comrade-in-arms in his early years. In 1931, when Liu Qianchu was the secretary of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, he was arrested and imprisoned by the enemy together with his wife Zhang Wenqiu for being informed by a traitor. On April 5 of that year, Liu Qianchu was shot and killed by the warlord Han Fuju . Before his execution, his only last words were to say to Zhang Wenqiu: "I will never see the child you are carrying. However, no matter where you live in the future, you will miss the hot land of Qilu, so after the child is born, you will be named 'Siqi' is all right."

In February 1962, Liu Siqi married Yang Maozhi, an instructor at Air Force Academy, and they had two sons and two daughters. The eldest son, Yang Xiaoying, was named in memory of Mao Anying. Later, Liu Siqi was assigned to work at the Academy of Military Sciences until his retirement.
