Sanqi Interactive Entertainment surpasses Mihayou and ranks first in the overseas revenue rankings. With the update of game characters, plots and equipment, and the holding of prayer activities, in the October game overseas revenue rankings, Mihayou's "Genshin Impact" ranked first in the October overseas mobile game revenue list, firmly occupying the championship throne. With the launch of the new character Cao Shen in "Genshin Impact" on November 2, it is expected that the "Genshin Impact" will usher in a new round of explosion in November.
Sanqi Interactive Entertainment has a number of games that have entered the top 30 in the rankings, including the fourth-ranked "Puzzles & Survival", the eighteenth-ranked "Little Ant Country", the twenty-third-ranked "Song of the City on the Cloud", and the thirty-first-ranked "Call Me Big Shopkeeper". With the revenue of multiple games, Sanqi Interactive Entertainment surpassed Mihayou and became the number one in the overseas revenue rankings of Chinese manufacturers.
Tencent’s games "PUBG Mobile" and " Fantasy Tower " ranked second and twenty-one in the game’s overseas revenue rankings.
On November 16, Tencent released its third-quarter financial report. In the third quarter of this year, Tencent Game revenue was 42.9 billion yuan, down about 4.6% from the same period last year. Among them, Tencent's local game revenue fell 7% to 31.2 billion yuan, and the international game market revenue increased by 63% year-on-year to 11.7 billion yuan.
According to the financial report, the increase in international game market revenue in the third quarter was mainly due to the steady growth of the "VALORANT" championship game, and in addition, the "Fantasy Tower" released overseas by international brand Level Infinite in August this year. In addition, on November 4, Tencent also launched "Goddess of Victory: Nikke" developed by Shift Up, a Korean studio that participated in the investment. In terms of local market games, products such as " Return to Empire ", " League of Legends Esports Manager " and " League of Legends Mobile Game " performed well. The decline in revenue was mainly due to the transitional challenges of the industry, resulting in the reduction of paid users. For example, under the protection measures for minors, the revenue of " King of Glory " and " Peace Elite " decreased. In this third quarter report, Tencent Holdings once again disclosed data on game related to minors. In July 2022, the game duration of minors dropped by 92% year-on-year compared with , accounting for 0.7% of the total game duration in the local market.
Currently, the main markets of Tencent’s two ace games "Honor of Kings" and "PUBG Mobile" are still in China. Sensor Tower store intelligence data shows that in October 2022, Tencent's "Honor of Kings" attracted nearly US$210 million in the global App Store and Google Play, with revenue from China's iOS market accounting for 95.1% and revenue from overseas market accounting for 4.9%; PUBG Mobile (mergered Peace Elite) revenue of US$130 million. Among them, 63.2% of the revenue comes from the Chinese iOS market, while the revenue in the US market accounts for 9%.
Tencent executives said in an evening conference call that Tencent game version number problem will always be solved, and version number will be issued in the near future. To a certain extent, Tencent needs to be prepared for this. After the version number is issued, Tencent will launch more games that have been prepared, and the headwind factors in the game industry will definitely be alleviated.
