Remedy confirmed in early November that Control 2 is still in conceptual stage, meaning the game is not yet in active development, so it may take years.

Its budget is 50 million euros (about $52 million), a significant increase from the $30 million of the original game. In terms of context, the cost of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunter" is $81 million, while Red Dead Redemption costs between $80 million and $100 million.

However, this is not the only control game being developed, as the codename Vulture is the upcoming four-player collaborative PvE game to be announced in the summer of 2021.
