Meta announced the acquisition of three game developers, including Camouflaj, a developer of "Iron Man VR" and Armature, a developer of "Resident Evil 4 VR".
At the Meta Connect 2022 live conference, the company announced the acquisition of Camouflaj, Armature Studio and Twisted Pixel.
Camouflaj is a Seattle-based studio founded by former Metal Gear producer and Halo creative director Ryan Payton, who has developed Republic and Iron Man VR.
"Iron Man VR" was launched on PSVR in July 2020 and will be released on November 3, 2022 and will be released on Quest 2.
Armature was founded in Texas, USA and was formed by key members of the Metroid series. The studio has developed Resident Evil 4 VR, Where the Heart Leads, and Ark: Genesis Part 1. In addition, they have also participated in the development of Metal Gear, Batman: Arkham, Borderlands series and Fortnite.
Twisted Metal is also a Texas-based developer with works including The Maw, Splosion Man, Wilson’s Heart and Path of the Warrior.
For the acquisition of these three studios, Meta said: "It will take some time before we can reveal what they are doing, but we are excited to continue working with and supporting these developers as they bring ambitious and forward-looking games to VR."
