Tang Gaozong died in December of the first year of Hongdao (683). Prior to this, Tang Gaozong arranged for Wu Zetian to assist the future emperor "if there are undecided military affairs, and the queen dowager", after Zhongzong ascended the throne, he was vague about this arrangement.
Wu Zetian began to abolish his son Zhongzong and walked into the center of imperial power himself. She was the queen mother for 7 years, the queen for 12 years, and she was in power for 20 years. It can be seen that Wu Zetian has firmly grasped the power. After she came to power, she slaughtered the Li clan in the Tang Dynasty.
Wu Zetian entered the palace in the eleventh year of Zhenguan (637). She was only fourteen years old at the time. She was named a fifth-grade talented person by Emperor Taizong Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty. He was given the title "Wu Mei" during the reign of Li Shimin There are few historical records about life in the Wu Zetian Palace, only anecdotes about Li Shimin's horse training. Li Shimin has a horse named "Lion Cong", and no one can tame it. But Wu Zetian served Li Shimin at the time and said: "I can subdue it, but I need three things, one is an iron whip, the other is an iron rod, and the third is a dagger. Head, but not convinced; then cut its throat directly with a dagger." After hearing this, Li Shimin praised Wu Zetian for his courage. This shows the viciousness of Wu Zetian.
It is rumored that Li Shimin saw that the world was peaceful and wanted to know the fate of the Tang Dynasty in the future, and who would destroy the Feng Shui of Li's Tang Dynasty. Let Li Chunfeng, a well-known Fengshui master at the time, do the calculations. As a result, Master Li told Li Shimin that the chaotic people were by the emperor's side, and thirty years later, the descendants of the Tang Dynasty royal family would be almost extinct. Li Shimin asked who this person was, and he wanted to eliminate hidden dangers in the bud as soon as possible. But Li Chunfeng uttered the aphorism, "You will not leave your body, and your eyes are long in the sky." Under Li Shimin's repeated questioning, Li Chunfeng said again: "After the third emperor of Tang, the heroine Wuwang will have the world." Then he said nothing. As soon as Li Shimin heard that it was related to Wu, he immediately began to pay attention.
Then, since Li Shimin heard such a slogan at the time, why didn't he kill Wu Zetian to avoid future troubles?
One, Li Shimin did not expect Wu Zetian to become a trend.
At that time, after Li Shimin heard the admonishment, he never thought in his heart that his concubine, talented person Wu Meiniang, would become Wu Zetian.Then he did something earth-shattering. In Li Shimin's heart, if you want to shake the sky, you must have military power and use force to gain the world. That's what he did, launching the Xuanwu Sect, killing his brother Li Jiancheng, and forcing his father Li Yuan to abdicate. How could he think that women can gain the world by their bodies? He paid all his attention to "force" instead of women.
Second, killed Li Junxian by mistake.
Tang Taizong steals weight inside and outside the imperial court for investigation to see who meets the prophecy. Among them was a courtier named Li Junxian who entered Li Shimin's eyes. This Li Junxian has always been an unknown officer in the court. But he became attached to Wu. His place of birth bears the word "wu", Luozhou Wuan; his official name has the word "wu", Wulian Jungong, General Wuwei; his office bears the word "wu", and his official name is Su Xuanwumen. The name also has Wu, and the nickname is Wu Niang. Here comes my mother, let alone Li Shimin, even later generations of us will believe it. It was such a coincidence that Li Shimin couldn't care about it, especially Li Junxian's nickname is "Wuniang", which is too corresponding to the proverbial heroine Wu Wang. Therefore, Li Shimin found a reason to kill Li Junxian.
After this great cleansing, Li Shimin's mind was relieved.
Third, all concubines have their hair cut to be nuns.
In the twenty-third year of Zhenguan (649), Li Shimin died. His original concubines were mainly childless, including the talented Wu Meiniang, who were all sent to the Ganye Temple in Chang'an to have their hair cut and become nuns. They are accompanied by dead lights all their lives. The result of this treatment has completely cut off any thoughts of these concubines.
The result of the above processing is not that Li Shimin did not do it, but he did not expect that the "female protagonist Wu Wang" refers to Wu Meiniang and Wu Zetian.
If history can be determined by prophecies alone, then China will always be passed on in mythology. Just like with a few words of prophecy, Li Shimin would believe that Wu Zetian could replace Li's Tang Dynasty.
We don't want to think about why there are such stories as prophetic words.

Why didn't Li Shimin kill Wu Zetian so as to end the troubles? It was Li Shimin who could not kill Wu Zetian. That is, Wu Zetian's fate is not in the hands of Li Shimin, he can't kill Wu Zetian, Wu Zetian is a god, she becomes the emperor, everything is God's will.
We should believe that the spread of this prophecy has something to do with Wu Zetian himself, that is, the literati come to myth certain things according to their needs.
In May of the first year of Yonghui (650 years), Tang Gaozong Li Zhi entered Chang'an Ganye Temple for incense on the anniversary of Li Shimin's death, and met Wu Zetian. Because as early as when Li Shimin was seriously ill, Li Zhi and Wu Meiniang had an affair.
In May of the second year of Yonghui (651), Wu Zetian officially entered the palace. Started a different life, and at the same time Li's Tang Dynasty also experienced a bloody storm. History is as simple as that.
