According to a statement on the game's official Twitter , the team is currently approaching an important development node and decided to postpone the release of the game until next year, mainly taking into account the quality of life of the developers and the quality of the game itself.

As we approach a certain important development point and the path to the project's release becomes clearer, we see that there is still a lot of text and markup to deal with. Taking into account our two main priority indicators - the quality of life of the team and the quality of the finished game - we can now confirm that Star Ocean will be released in 2023.
