On December 28, the Torch Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology announced the 2021 annual evaluation results of national science and technology business incubators. 386 national science and technology business incubators were rated as excellent (Category A), 617 were rated as good (Category B), 262 were rated as qualified (Category C), and 12 were rated as unqualified (Category D). Among them, Zhanjiang Modern Industrial Technology Innovation Center and Zhanjiang High-tech Industrial Development Zone Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Service Center Co., Ltd. were selected as national Class A incubators.
It is reported that the Zhanjiang High-tech Industrial Development Zone Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Service Center (referred to as: Zhanjiang Development Zone Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Service Center) has been rated as a national Class A incubator for two consecutive years. It is the only national-level incubator in Guangdong Province that has won Class A for two consecutive years. Recently, the Torch Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology announced the registration list of high-tech enterprises recognized by the Guangdong Provincial Certification Agency in 2022. 26 incubated companies in the Zhanjiang Development Zone Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Service Center are on the registration list. As of 2021, the Zhanjiang Development Zone Technology Entrepreneurship Service Center has successfully incubated 126 technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, including 20 high-tech enterprises. It is expected to successfully incubate 63 technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises in 2022, including 26 high-tech enterprises.
This year is also the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Zhanjiang Development Zone Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Service Center. The relevant person in charge of the Zhanjiang Development Zone Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Service Center said that they will use this award as an opportunity to accelerate the pace of construction, improve service capabilities, promote innovative development, and further realize the "Maker Space-Incubator-Accelerator-Science and Technology Park" full industry incubation chain, providing a strong driving force for innovation and entrepreneurship for the high-quality development of Zhanjiang's economy.
Zhanjiang Modern Industrial Technology Innovation Center, another national Class A incubator, is located in Zhanjiang Haitian Logistics Industrial Park, with a total construction area of 10,612.77 square meters. It was put into operation in June 2014. It is a national-level technology business incubator with "government guidance, private enterprise investment, and market-oriented operation." In January 2021, Zhanjiang Modern Industrial Technology Innovation Center was recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a "National Science and Technology Business Incubator", the first private national science and technology business incubator in Zhanjiang City; in July 2022, it was recognized as a "Guangdong Province Veterans Entrepreneurship Incubation Demonstration Base" by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Veterans Affairs.
It is reported that the Zhanjiang Modern Industrial Technology Innovation Center incubates enterprises in the fields of big data, electronic information, biochemicals, , marine environmental protection, new material sources, new energy, agricultural science and technology. There are currently 116 incubating entrepreneurial enterprises, with an incubation success rate of 85.3%. Since it was put into operation, a total of 232 technological entrepreneurial enterprises have been cultivated, and the incubated enterprises have provided more than 2,000 jobs.
