Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, my country's oil and gas exploration and development efforts have been continuously strengthened, and the high-quality development system has been increasingly improved. The total oil and gas output increased from 296 million tons of oil equivalent in 2012 to 365 million tons of oil equivalent in 2021. In the first nine months of this year, crude oil production reached 153.75 million tons, increased by 53.0% year-on-year; natural gas production reached 160.1 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 5.4%.
The "14th Five-Year Plan for Modern Energy System" proposes that by 2025, the annual domestic crude oil production will rebound and stabilize at the level of 200 million tons, and the annual output of natural gas will reach more than 230 billion cubic meters. Working to solve the core needs of oil and gas, promote the discovery and efficient development of oil and gas resources, will make positive contributions to strengthening the energy rice bowl.
