According to data provided by the Myanmar Investment and Company Administration, as of the end of August 2022, the local investment in the real estate development field of Myanmar has exceeded 488 billion Myanmar Kyat , accounting for 21.11% of the total citizen investment.
From the fiscal year 2016-2017 to the end of January 2021, the local investment situation of each department is as follows. The real estate industry has exceeded 3.071 billion kyats, other industries have exceeded 1.868 billion kyats, manufacturing industry has exceeded 2.556 billion kyats, communications and transportation industry has exceeded 1.141 billion kyats, hotel and tourism industry has exceeded 1.125 billion kyats, and energy industry has exceeded 436 billion kyats. The industrial zones have more than 324 billion kyats, the animal husbandry and fishery have more than 347 billion kyats, the construction industry has more than 228 billion kyats, the mining industry has more than 75 billion kyats, the agricultural sector has more than 42 billion kyats, and the oil and natural gas sectors have more than 13 billion kyats.
According to the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC), in the 2019-2020 fiscal year, 130 new local investment projects were approved, with a total investment of more than 1.881 billion Kyo, including more than 413 million US dollars.
In the fiscal year 2019-2020, MIC approved a total of 130 new enterprises with an investment of 1535.075 billion kyats, of which the investment was US$26.6873 million, and allowed an additional 346.384 billion kyats, of which the investment was US$14.6745 million. Including increased investment, the approved corporate investment totaled 1881.459 billion kyats, including US$413.618 million.
Regarding foreign investment, the Myanmar State Management Committee approved a total of 245 new enterprises in the 2019-2020 fiscal year, with an investment amount of US$4.235 billion and allowed an additional US$1.291 billion for 110 operating enterprises, with a total investment amount including increased investment reaching US$5.526 billion.
