Recently, with the shipment of a new batch of electronic consumer products, the freight rate in the cross-border air cargo market in Zhengzhou has been directly pushed up, and the unit price per kilogram of goods received by logistics companies has doubled from the first half of the year. Not only that, the storage capacity of Zhengzhou Airport's cargo warehouses reached its peak in August, and the current timelines for Zhengzhou's routes to North America have been greatly delayed.
1. The electronic consumer season is approaching, and international freight will continue to be full
Zhengzhou to North America freight route, whether it is money to send goods?
This is indeed an exaggeration, but it is a profile of the current Zhengzhou aviation logistics market. It is understood that every autumn and winter, domestic exporters are the busiest cycle due to stocking "Black Friday" and Christmas. However, this year’s cargo volume has surged unusually, resulting in two new phenomena:
First, cross-border air cargo bulk logistics and express delivery prices are upside down . Cross-border bulk logistics, such as UPS, is like Debon Logistics in China, which is responsible for station-to-station transportation; cross-border express, such as FedEx and SF Express, is responsible for door-to-door transportation. Under normal circumstances, the price of transporting goods of the same quality and volume and using bulk logistics is about 50 to 70% of that of express delivery. But at present, the price of bulk freight has been rising all the way, which has exceeded the express freight.
Second, cross-border freight carriers have burst their positions. The person in charge of an international express company in Henan District revealed that since August, the company has been in a state of liquidation. In the past, goods sent to the United States by air would arrive at the destination within 3 days to complete the receipt. But at present, it takes about 3 days to arrange warehouses in Zhengzhou, and we can only do our best to ensure that the goods arrive within a week.
According to multiple sources,This month, a number of well-known consumer electronics manufacturers’ new products were launched on the market, catalysing the competition for cross-border air logistics resources and raising market prices. A clear silhouette is the "explosion" of the cargo warehouse at Zhengzhou Airport.
"Since the second half of this year, the airport cargo warehouse has been in a state of operation with full warehousing, and its cargo throughput has more than doubled than in previous years." A person in charge of Zhengzhou Airport Cargo Company revealed that cargo shipping capacity has been increasing, and some hot spots The cargo air line has been upgraded from 3 to 5 flights per week. However, encryption has a bottom line, and the effectiveness of resources such as transportation capacity, supporting facilities, and human resources has been exerted to the extreme.
According to the news released by Henan Airport Group, Zhengzhou Airport completed a total cargo throughput of 440,000 tons in the first eight months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 21%. Among them, international cargo volume accounted for about 75% of the total, an increase of about 34% year-on-year. Ranked 6th among more than 200 domestic civil airport industry rankings.
2. Exporters are facing logistics problems
The recent increase in air freight prices has caused some exporters in Henan Province to abandon air freight.

If the logistics fee is increased by another twenty or thirty dollars, consumers may not pay the bill.

3. When will the air freight price have a turnaround?
Why does the price of cross-border air freight in Zhengzhou continue to rise? Except for the centralized shipment of electronic consumer goods, the industry's interpretation of this phenomenon is basically the same.
At a level, due to the domestic epidemic, the air capacity of Shanghai, Guangzhou, Qingdao and other places is limited, and Zhengzhou's cross-border route resources and capacity resources are relatively dominant. As a result, the overflow of cargo from other provinces flows to Zhengzhou in large numbers. At the same time, Zhengzhou is connected. There are a large number of high value-added electronic products in the foreign air waybills, which directly pushes up the freight bid. Among them, they include Sony, , HP, etc.

However, due to the excessive export volume and the upgrade of port epidemic prevention by many foreign countries, the Chinese-style epidemic prevention has become a bright spot in the world, attracting a large number of overseas manufacturing orders to domestic.
Due to container loading and unloading and return, the shipping market has severely blocked, and the competition for resources in the cross-border air transportation market has intensified.
When will the air freight price have a callback?
"One freighter transports millions of tons of one-way load, and one freight aircraft one-way The load is only about 100 tons. It is impossible to relieve the pressure of sea transportation by air transportation alone. A person in charge of Zhengzhou Airport Cargo Company expressed his opinion. He believes that the antidote to the extremely high air freight price should be the first solution to the shipping capacity.
There has been a turnaround.On September 26, Sun Wenjian, spokesperson of the Ministry of Transport and head of the Policy Research Office, said that with the release of new container production capacity in my country, the turnover of empty containers has accelerated, and the shortage of empty containers has been basically alleviated. At present, only a few liner companies may have a temporary shortage of a small amount of empty containers at certain ports due to the effects of delays in shipping schedules, weather, and epidemic prevention and control. In the next step, the Ministry of Transport will continue to work with the Ministry of Commerce and other ministries to implement measures to stabilize foreign trade to ensure the smooth flow of the international logistics supply chain.
Another good news is that the Zhengzhou Airport North Cargo Area project has been working overtime to advance. The North Cargo Area Project is an important part of the third phase of Zhengzhou Airport. It mainly serves the development of large aviation logistics companies in Zhengzhou and meets their needs to strengthen their hub functions or set up regional distribution centers and distribution centers. The designed annual cargo and mail guarantee capacity of the North Cargo Area Project is 600,000 tons, and the total investment is about 4.6 billion yuan.
The project is designed with an annual cargo and mail throughput of 600,000 tons. The main construction content includes: new parallel taxiway, apron taxiway, 3 vertical connecting roads, related end taxiways, fast exit taxiway system; new construction There are 16 cargo planes and 70,000 square meters of cargo warehouse. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of this year. By then, Zhengzhou Airport’s cargo terminal will have an area of 180,000 square meters, 25 cargo slots, and an annual cargo and mail guarantee capacity of 1.1 million tons. This will complement the shortcomings of Zhengzhou Airport’s cargo facilities, optimize the cargo development environment, and create an international air cargo hub. It is of great significance.
