"After Hitachi ABB Grid was put into operation in 2020, this is my second time to participate in the advisory group activities as a new identity, and it is also my fifth consecutive year to participate in the annual meeting."
Hitachi ABB Grid Co., Ltd. CEO Fang Qin said that Hitachi ABB established Chongqing ABB Transformer Co., Ltd. in Chongqing in 1998. In the past 20 years, Chongqing has been an important R&D and manufacturing base for Hitachi ABB Grid in China. Benefiting from Chongqing’s excellent business environment and government support, the Chongqing plant has now developed into one of Hitachi’s ABB Grid’s largest transformer manufacturing bases and design centers in the world, and has participated in many UHV projects in China, including the Three Gorges Project on the Yangtze River. The right bank power station project, the Northwest to Central China (Sichuan) power grid DC interconnection project, the Beijing Chengbei Substation (Key Power Project for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games), and the world's first ±1100 kV UHV DC transmission project (Jiquan Project). With the emergence of business opportunities for global cooperation, the manufacturing base has gradually developed into a regional export center for Hitachi ABB Grid.
At present, Chongqing ABB Transformer Co., Ltd. will build a world-class transformer manufacturing base in Liangjiang New District . After completion, the plant will become one of the most advanced manufacturing bases of Hitachi ABB Grid in the world, and will continue to serve as Chengyu The regional twin-city economic circle and even the entire China's clean energy transition have contributed.
"This annual conference, centering on the Chengdu-Chongqing region's dual-city economic circle, proposes to build a stronger, smarter, and greener energy system to support the sustainable development of the economy and society in the region, and help achieve " carbon neutrality" "Goal."
Fang Qin said that electricity is an important pillar of the entire energy system. Practice in a special period has proved that a tough, reliable, and efficient power industry is vital to China's continued economic recovery. For the Shuangcheng Economic Circle, making full use of the abundant renewable energy resources in Sichuan Province will be the most efficient, cleanest and most cost-effective solution to effectively meet the city’s growing electricity demand and significantly reduce carbon emissions, and promote the region Clean energy transition.
In order to realize the vision of sustainable development and help China realize the "dual carbon" goal, the Chengdu-Chongqing region should ensure the construction of a complete modern power grid infrastructure.Realize the large-scale application of renewable energy; deploy the construction of clean energy systems to promote the low-carbonization of high-energy-consuming industrial clusters; initiate mechanisms designed to encourage clean energy generation, transmission and use, and establish sustainable energy trading platforms.
Finally, Fang Qin believes that this process not only requires a series of key enabling and catalytic driving forces, including the use of advanced technologies to increase the speed and scale of the energy transition, encourage green investment, promote exchanges and cooperation, and create a favorable policy and regulatory environment. And it requires the concerted efforts of all parties to put it into action as soon as possible.
