Superstition and science cannot be confused in the minds of most people, but reality often makes people have to believe that some superstitious statements can also be explained from a scientific point of view. Many principles in Feng Shui prove these, and for this reason, many people still believe in the superstitiousness of the ancients.
People will die in their lifetime. The things after death are often handled by their children and grandchildren. Holding funerals in rural areas is as grand as weddings. There is a fixed process from buying funeral supplies to holding funerals. The simplest one will take at least two or three days to end. The last step is the particularly important funeral ceremony. There are generally three taboos: the coffin cannot be lifted, there are snakes when it is moved, and the other is the most important one.

1. It is taboo to carry the coffin without moving
After people die, the cemeteries chosen are mostly in the mountains, and it is difficult to move, and it is necessary to carry the coffin by manpower. In some places, even if the car can be directly reached, people who have to carry the coffin on the car and carry it into the grave pit. These people carrying coffins are all strong men. Some of them help themselves, while most of them are actually hired by people who pay money.
The coffin is made of wood. The thickness of the coffin and the size of the coffin are consistent with the body shape of the dead person, so the coffin is generally not too heavy, and the four young and middle-aged people should be able to lift it. So why can't I lift it? In fact, this is just a method of the person carrying the coffin.
The people who are responsible for the work before carrying the coffin will basically negotiate the price, but some people are not satisfied with the price, so they deliberately do not work when carrying the coffin, just to ask the family to increase the price. The entire funeral has reached the final stage. As long as the funeral is successfully completed, it is not conducive to unpleasant things happening at this time, which affects the time, so the boss will compromise and add money.

Moreover, in the experience passed down by the ancients, it is really something that people can't lift the coffin. In this case, people think that the deceased still has a wish that has not been fulfilled and is unwilling to leave is also an unlucky phenomenon. Therefore, it is very taboo to do this when burial, and the family members will jump even if they know it is a pit.

2. Taboo in contact with snakes
Most people are afraid of snakes, and it is also a very spiritual animal. Among the five immortal families worshipped by ancient people, there were snake immortals. The ancients also generally believed that the place where snakes appeared was a blessed place, and they could not take the initiative to harm the snake when they saw it.
The same is true for snakes in the cemetery. If there are snakes in the old graves, people will think that the snake took the initiative to become the "family immortal" of this family, and it is also a good grave to live in the graves. This also means that the snake fairy is protecting this family and that future generations can be blessed.
But graves that have not been buried are different. Usually, the people will ask Mr. Yin and Yang to determine the location of the tomb and ask someone to make the tomb in advance. On that day, the coffin will be carried to the cemetery for a funeral ceremony. After arriving at the tomb pit, the person carrying the coffin will take the lead. At this time, if there is a snake in the tomb pit, the ceremony can only be terminated.
People believe that a big snake is entrenched in the tomb pit, and it is the snake fairy who is blocking the burial here. If the family insists on driving the big snake away and burying the person here, it will cause trouble and cause trouble to the family. Rural people would rather trust the existence of this kind than the absence of such things. In this case, people usually choose another cemetery to calculate the days and times of being buried.

3. It is taboo to see corpses
When hitting a tomb, you will dig three or four meters deep underground. The taboo is to dig white bones. These bones are buried underground and are not cared about. In most cases, they are due to their age, or the tombstones are destroyed, and they are alive without future generations to worship and fill the soil. As time went by and the effect of nature, this once grave was razed to the ground and no one knew that there were still dead bones buried beneath.
Later people may dig out such graves without knowing it. At this time, they must not repair new graves regardless of the situation, otherwise it will be very troublesome to become a tomb in the tomb. The best way is to abandon this cemetery and find a place to bury the dead, and also help repair the new tomb as the excavated corpses.

This situation is strange among the people. It is considered to have disturbed the dead souls below. If you cannot recover well, you will be entangled by its ghosts, which is very terrifying. But you can't be afraid when you encounter it, as ghosts are reasonable. Those who don’t know will not blame it. As long as they help it repair the grave and burn some paper money to apologize, the matter will be over.

Personally think that this is actually the etiquette of Chinese people. Although people have passed away, they also need respect. A grave is equivalent to their house, and no matter how simple it is, it is their private space. If you accidentally destroy it, it is best to take the initiative to repair it and then reimburse the owner for the fault. Only by getting the owner's forgiveness will you not be rude.
We cannot control the matter of life and death, and we can only let it go. However, it is a basic etiquette and culture to find a good place for people to bury after they die. Doing so can not only comfort the remaining family members, but also give the deceased ones. However, these taboo things in funeral culture must be paid attention to. Whether it is superstition or not, we must respect others.
