"Diviso Orbis Terrarum" comes from Latin, meaning "traveling the world", and is the name of the world map drawn by Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa in the first century AD. Agripa needs a practical map that can be used for military purposes. He ignored the carefully crafted maps previously produced by the Greeks and decided to draw a circular world map based on a survey of the extensive military road system that ran through the Roman Empire. The map was sent to the big cities of the Empire, and even though no known copy was believed to have survived, this passion for the map and performance of our planet remained in the Montblanc Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum World Time watch, with a complication that clearly indicates 24 time zones at a glance.
watch is equipped with a 43mm stainless steel case, the dial uses a three-dimensional rose gold plated northern hemisphere continent and warp lined around the upper sapphire crystal rotating disc in 24 time zones and 24 cities. The disc rotates day and night under the sapphire crystal glass. There are two gray tones of "wave" decorations in the center of the disc - called flinqué-froissé guilloché - surrounded by 24-hour displays, gray flange and rose gold coated luminous dot minute marks, rose gold plated luminous leaf-shaped hour and minute hands.
watch is equipped with a gray smudged alligator leather strap, semi-matte finish, and stainless steel triple-fold clasp.
Montblanc Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum is equipped with MB 29.20 automatic movement , equipped with homemade world time complications and a power reserve of about 42 hours. The movement has a conveniently located button at 8 o'clock. Once the setup is complete, the user simply presses this button until the reference city is at the top. The hour and minute hands will be automatically synchronized to indicate the time of the selected city. There is also a day/night indicator that works with a rotating disc that changes from light grey (day) to dark grey (night) to providing an overview of the sun’s orbiting Earth in a practical and intuitive way.
