Mention Dark Tranquillity, the little friends who like to spin to death will not be unfamiliar. They are the pioneers of In Flames and At The Gatesz. The band, if you count its predecessor band Septic Broiler, which was founded in 1989, Dark Tranquillity has now been in the army for more than 30 years and has dedicated countless classic melodies. And the new album "Moment" just released this year will undoubtedly be one of the new works that fans of the thrill of death are extremely awaited! Before talking about this new album "Moment", I think I need to introduce the lineup changes of Dark Tranquillity. Similar to Mors Principium Est, DT's new album was created after the lineup was changed. The founding guitarist Niklas Sundin left the team and replaced by the famous original Arch Enemy guitarist, who is also the core Amott brother of the peak of the enemy’s creation. Brother Christopher Amott, and another guitarist Johan Reinholdz, a veteran Swedish avant-garde metal Andromeda, this new lineup is not luxurious!
"Phantom Days" is the opening work of this new album and the first single to be released. But maybe my appetite was too high. After listening to the entire new album, I have to admit that "Phantom Days" is a perfect opening song, but it is also the commanding height of the whole work...
doesn't mean " "Moment" other works are not good, the overall quality of this one is really good, the next two "Phantom Days" "Transient" and "Identical to None" are very catching in terms of rhythm and melody. Another example is "The Dark Unbroken" "And "Failstate" also reminded me of the "Character". They have combined electronic sound effects and death metal into a unique gloomy sound aesthetic. However, after listening to the whole article, the deepest impression is still on "Phantom Days".
and other songs, such as "Remain in the Dark" and "Standstill" are actually more of a Gothic metal like Katatonia. Although the melody is catchy, I always feel that this shouldn’t be from Dark Tranquillity’s album.
