1. "Good Luck, Rio Grande"
Douban: 8.2
Starring: Emma Thompson / Daryl McCormack / Isabella Loveland
Movie review: The entire film almost takes place in a hotel suite, and there are almost large conversations throughout, but it is not boring at all, but full of sincere, sensitive, and mutually respectful acceptance and recognition. Emma Thompson The chemical reaction between Emma Thompson and the actor kept me smiling all the time. Both of them are kind and respectful to each other, but they have not fallen into the stereotype of hello, me, and everyone. Instead, they have created a different kind of tension because of their different ages and concepts. They talked about each other from lust, to the relationship between two pairs of mother and son, to desires, hopes in life, and regrets. The relationship between the two characters is constantly flowing, and it was so difficult to do well, but it was so well done.
2. "Bullet Train"
Douban: 7.9
Starring: Brad Pitt / Joey King / Aaron Taylor-Johnson
Movie comments: . As an action comedy, Bullet Train has everything it needs. It has a strong cast, and just watching these actors play against each other is worth the price of admission. But as a movie, the narrative method of the plot is an important part that cannot be ignored. From the mixed reviews, it can be seen that Bullet Train does not do a good job in plot narrative. This can actually be seen from the 30 minutes before the movie starts. If you have not read the original novel, the chaotic editing method in the first 30 minutes will make the audience unclear. Therefore, before watching this movie, it is best to understand a little about the plot summary, so that the viewing experience will be better. However, after the previous embarrassing period, the second half of the movie gradually got better, and the rapid plot advancement gave the audience a full sense of refreshment.
3, " Transient Universe "
Douban: 7.6
Starring: Michelle Yeoh / Michelle Hsu / Kevin Kwan
Movie review: I can't find a more appropriate word to describe the movie "Fuckin' Multiverse" than "awesome". Overseas Chinese-themed movies that have been very popular in the past few years are either like the fried noodles sold in KFC in China, or the Orange Chicken in Panda Express in the United States, and some of them emphasize their "fusion cuisine" rather than "Chinese food". But "Damn Multiverse" is different. It's like entering a Chinese restaurant and discovering that the chef is a foreigner, but the food he cooks tastes really good. You ask a foreigner to come over and ask what's going on, and the foreigner replies in Chinese eloquently: Damn it, I'm a bastard. Not only did I do it, I also improved your dross. Vulgar, right? Shocked? This is what the "fucking multiverse" looks like.
4. " Don't Look Up "
Douban: 7.6
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio / Jennifer Lawrence / Meryl Streep
Movie review: Five-star production! Don't Look Up can't even be simply classified as a comedy science fiction movie. In my opinion, it is more like a social experiment movie, a complete science fiction thriller. When we look at it all from a God's perspective, the viewers watching from the other side will find it funny or absurd, and they can't help but feel scared. If it is as shown in the movie, what will be the fate of mankind? Most likely it won't be a good outcome. In the eyes of capitalists and politicians, planet killers have become countless dollars and a tool to realize zz's interests. How good will the reality be? Thinking of this, I couldn't help but shudder. This world is more absurd than the movie!
5, " The Banshee of Inisherin"
Douban: 7.8
Starring: Colin Farrell / Brendan Gleeson / Kerry Condon
movie review: seems to be an absurd comedy of feuding, but in fact it is a vivid embodiment of spiritual internal friction: half of me longs for "greatness" and breaks away from the "mediocre" self, and the other half of me becomes full of resentment because of being hated. The island surrounded by cliffs has become an excellent metaphor for a closed heart, while the muffled gunfire and the ringing of funeral bells are the background sounds deep in the consciousness. MacDonald uses simple but precise symbols to construct the spiritual battlefield of contemporary individuals, and turns from anxiety to shocking self-destruction in the last third. The seemingly ordinary seaside scene at the end reminds the audience at the turn of the pen: The war between me and I will never end, and we are all prisoners of Inisherin.
