1. On the Rim (1994)
Tupac Shakur with Duane Martin Bernie Mac Mac) and Marlon Wayans (Marlon Wayans, who stars in Booty Call, the directorial debut of Jeff Pollack, about a high school sports star torn between thug life and a potentially bright future. Shot in Harlem, it was the last theatrical film Shakur would see in his lifetime, and it clearly demonstrated his talent and promise as an actor.

2. Alex Strangelove (2018)
Netflix The original film stars Daniel Doheny, who is hilarious, bawdy and poignant as Alex Truelove, a troubled high school student who is in love with his girl. Friend Claire (Madeline Weinstein), but he is confused when he falls in love with a handsome, comfortable boy named Elliot (Antonio Maziale).
3. Always My Maybe (2019)
Co-writers Ali Huang and Randall Park star in this charming romantic comedy about childhood friends who reunite years after a disastrous relationship. A loose and nimble Keanu Reeves, playing himself, can't help but steal every scene he's in.
4. Before I Wake (2016)
Masters of Horror Mike Flanagan (If you are a fan of the genre, check it out on Netflix Revel in the incredible Midnight Mass by Thomas Jane, Kate Bosworth and Jacob Tremblay in this supernatural thriller about an adopted boy with an imagination about death.
5. Berlin Syndrome (2017)
So rich we might as well make them their own genre, movies about a kidnapped woman usually go one of two ways: either the suspense, figuring out how and if she will escape - or the worse route, the low road, when some movies focus on the torture and humiliation of women, turning it into a spectacle.
Although Australian director Cate Shortland adapted Melanie Josten Joosten)'s novel about a tourist imprisoned by a handsome teacher after a passionate affair is a thriller (sometimes quite heart-pounding), and much of the woman's abuse is difficult to watch, but this highly engaging psychological drama stands out because it's all about the characters and what's going on in their heads.
Teresa Palmer, best known for Hacksaw Ridge , performs as a victim whose stages of pain are not unlike those of grief. German Max Riemelt (Sense8) holds up every step of the way as her creepy, multifaceted captor, but this is Palmer's film, and it gives the dynamite actress long relegated to playing love interests in Hollywood a serious calling card.
6. Bird Box (2018)
Sandra Bullock in Bird Box stars as Malorie, an expectant mother who is forced to become a survivalist when supernatural forces destroy the world's population. One look at these creatures we've never seen before and your eyes will glaze over and get wet, and then you'll go crazy and kill yourself, by any means convenient. After a chaotic early period of mass carnage and destruction, Malorie and her unborn child arrive at a house where several strangers also fleeing the epidemic find refuge. Bird Box broke Netflix records and remains one of the streaming giant's most popular shows ever.

7. Blondie (2022)
By Joyce Carroll Oz's fictional account of Marilyn Monroe's life, Andrew Dominic's much-hyped drama established Ana de Armas as one of the Hollywood canon's most important icons. The biggest headlines surrounding the release of Blondie were due to the picture's NC-17 rating; it's the most high-profile film to be released with the infamous stamp in a while.
Dominic's three-hour film is occasionally engaging, alternately bloated, self-indulgent, often unpleasant, and even cruel. De Armas' performance is truly surprising and worthy of major awards attention.
8. The Boys in the Band (2020)
Helmed by award-winning Broadway director Joe Mantello Ryan Murphy co-produced by Mart adapted from Mart Crawley Crowley)'s iconic play by including Jim Parsons (Jim Parsons, Matt Bomer and Zachary Quinto. The story took place at a gathering of gay friends in New York in 1968.
9. The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind (2019)
Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor’s feature film debut tells the inspiring true story (based on his memoir) of William Kamkwamba, a Malawian who ingeniously built a windmill to save his village from famine. The official British nominee for Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards.
10. Call Me by Your Name (2017)
" Call Me by Your Name " won four Academy Award nominations including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for Timothée Chalamet 's star-making breakthrough. James Ivory's Oscar-winning screenplay makes a substantial abridgement of the final section of André Aciman's sexy and charming novel. However, these cuts fit the screen. Ivory delivers a wistful, moving monologue toward the end, and the film's final moments and final shot are already iconic.
