"Join the Black Panther Band"
1987, under the leadership of Guo Chuanlindi, the Black Panther Band was officially established, Ding Wu as the lead singer, Cheng Wei as the drummer, and Wang Wenjie as the bassist. But it is worth noting that Dou Wei was not the lead singer of the Black Panther band at this time.

As time came to 1989, Dou Wei was well-known in the Beijing Youth Music Group. He went from a transitional singer who swept the tail to an excellent singer with a unique style and a significant typhoon, and naturally became the pillar of the music group.
At this time, there was a disagreement within the Black Panther band that Guo Chuanlin had just formed, so the lead singer Ding Wu left the Black Panther band directly, which made Guo Chuanlin panic. Guo Chuanlin is a shrewd person after all. He quickly found Dou Wei, who was walking in the Northeast at that time, and then gave the biggest conditions he could give.
But unfortunately, Dou Wei did not agree to him directly, because compared to the Beijing Youth Music Group, the conditions given by Guo Chuanlin are not tempting. When Dou Wei first joined the Black Panther, his concept of rock music was very vague. It was more of a deliberate hustle and loose hair, just to make himself look more compatible with rock, but he did not have an in-depth understanding of what rock is and the essence of rock.

"The Road to Commercialization of Black Panther Band"
Of course, there is no only conclusion about rock and roll. Dou Wei never thought of using his own power to define rock, that is, sing wherever he thinks. Unruly and youth were the core contents of the creation at that time.
1989 Zhao Mingyi transferred from the army. With the recommendation of Li Tong , Zhao Mingyi came to Black Panthers as a drummer. Not long after, a young man named Luanshu also joined the big family as a keyboard player. Until this time, the Black Panthers truly achieved stability.
Guo Chuanlin was only now that he really started building a band, and the first step was to have his own representative work.
Dou Wei was the lead singer and lyricist at that time. After thinking about it for a long time, he had no inspiration. He was unwilling to put out the lyrics without inspiration, so he asked his teammates to write lyrics first. Li Tong took the lead in writing a song called " Facebook ". At that time, Li Tong stayed up for a few nights to create this song, and a good news came with it, that is, Beijing reported a concert with the theme of "1990 Beijing Modern Concert". Guo Chuanlin and the band were extremely excited when they heard the news.
Because, this is the best opportunity to show yourself to the outside world.
The music environment at that time was different from now on, with very few commercial activities. Any musician cherished it very much for the newly established Black Panther Band.
Just when everyone thought Black Panther could show off their strength at the concert, the organizer gave Guo Chuanlin a frustrating news that the songs submitted by the band did not meet the current mainstream values and were not accepted, which also means that Black Panthers were excluded from the door of the concert.
Dou Wei played a crucial role at this time. He has always had a steady and stubborn heart, which is to put it bluntly. He thought for a long time and suggested that the band develop south because it is the window for reform and opening up , and there may be new opportunities.
So at Dou Wei's suggestion, Guo Chuanlin contacted a organizer in Shenzhen. Under everyone's discussion, the Black Panther Band was stationed and the Breathing Band sang concert was the name "Shenzhen Spring Modern Concert".
The concert was held very successfully. Major media wanted to report and all the time they all knew that such a band came from the north. Their hair was disguised, just like the popular Beatles 20 years ago.
Although Dou Wei and the Black Panthers caused a big sensation in Shenzhen at that time, they still did not achieve the effect of becoming popular. What's more, this sensation was temporary, so there was no commercial performance soon.
In June 1990, Faye Wong was still in love with Luan Shu. Luan Shu and his group came to Shenzhen where they were unfamiliar with their lives. Faye Wong naturally couldn't ignore it, so she called her, the famous producer at that time, Chen Jiantian, and went to listen to the Black Panther Band concert together.
At this time, the Black Panther was on the verge of being unable to hold on. Fortunately, Faye Wong made timely arrangements, allowing Chen Jiantian and Guo Chuanlin to meet, and since then, the glorious prelude of the Black Panther has been kicked off. After listening to the Black Panthers' performance, Chen Jiantian was very excited. In his own words, he seemed to have seen his idol band, the Beatles. In the following time, he reached an agreement with the Black Panthers, and Chen Jiantian cooperated with the Black Panthers, and then paid HK$2,000 in living expenses every month, while working overtime to record the album "Black Panther 1".

In December 1991, after leaving Black Panther Music, Dou Wei founded the Dream Band. What is interesting is that this band was not called Dream Band at the beginning, but "High-level Animal Band".
Advanced animals and Black Panther, these two words can more or less show that Dou Wei is still a little uncomfortable with leaving Black Panther, called Advanced animals, which is also a contempt for the previous one.
Dou Wei began to lose her long hair, and her creative direction also changed from a hysterical cry to an expression deep in her heart.
At this time, Dou Wei has passed the stage of indulgence and unruly, and has begun to like to think and work harder.
The most important thing is that during this period, Faye Wong was together.
Dream Band is mainly composed of these people at this time: Dou Wei, Yu Weimin, Chen Jin, Wu Ke and Chen Xiaohu.
Among them, Yu Weimin is a veteran. After retiring from the army, he came to the Dream Band with the introduction of a friend. Wu Ke and Chen Xiaohu had formed the band before, the name was Red Army , but due to economic reasons, he had to face disbandment. He happened to meet Dou Wei who was flying solo at this time. Dream Band and Black Panther Band are different from that, there is no musician who manages and packages this band, and it feels more like an underground band, so I quickly face a realistic problem, that is, economic support.
Dou Wei later recalled:
I was very depressed during that period. Everyone didn’t know how to go in the future. To be honest, there was always a bad feeling at that time, and it felt that the band was not far away. Panic, contradictions, worries and confusion were always filled with that kind of magnetic field.
Dou Wei is undoubtedly the top player among several people. He advises the band to find a producer or company that can support the band to go on.
Just at this moment, Cui Jian played a movie called "Beijing Miscellaneous". Cui Jian is the leading actor in this movie, so he wants to find a band to appear as a guest character to show the realistic side of Beijing rock music, and Dream Band just fits it.
Dream Band has gained a certain degree of popularity since then. As time goes by, Dou Wei and Chen Xiaohu's relationship becomes increasingly tense. He is no longer satisfied with Chen Xiaohu's simple playing ability. This also put the band in trouble.
Later, the Taiwanese company wanted to sign Dou Wei, but he could only sign Dou Yisi. The band was not within their signing scope. Apart from that, it was given a certain living expenses every month, and nothing else.
In October 1992, Dream Band disbanded.
In fact, before the band disbanded, one thing happened, that is, Dou Wei entered the game, and Wu Ke also went in, because the reason was that he sucked the big m.
Dou Wei changed after he came. He realized that his behavior was indeed a bit unrestrained and unruly, and he realized his mistakes, and paid for it. From then on, Dou Wei became much more steady.
After the Dream Band was disbanded, Wu Ke still insisted on the concept of being a band, but later died because he had won an award. Later, when the documentary "Goodbye Utopia" was filmed, he also visited Wu Ke's parents specifically, which has confirmed this.

"Hung Hom 1994"
At the end of 1992, Zhang Peiren from Taiwan wanted to build a band and wanted to enter the mainland music market with this, and Dou Wei's contract was also transferred.
band managers set out to operate a series of business activities, which also laid the foundation for future Hung Hom concerts.
Later, the Hung Hom concert was successful. Many people think this is the spring of new music, but Dou Wei doesn't think so.
He even broke out in an interview, which was a scam.
Dou Wei believes that this is just a slogan for Taiwanese musicians to enter the mainland music market, and it is not at all advanced.
Although Dou Wei said this, many people still believe that the Hung Hom concert is incomparable to a certain extent and is the most successful mainland rock.

"Dou Wei and Faye Wong"
