The film tells the story of an elderly freediver known as the "Korean mermaid". These women support the island community of Jeju through their work of capturing seafood on the coastline.

In the past few decades, the number of women involved (also known as "sea girls") has decreased. But a new generation is helping to restore this dangerous lifestyle while fighting to protect the ocean from environmental threats.

The film was produced by Malala Yusavzai's Extracurricular and A24. Director Sue Kim is a Peabody Award nominee and is also known for The Speed ​​Cubers.
