Sometimes the thing we fear most is becoming our parents. This fear is at the heart of the latest queer horror film, Hypochondriac, which follows a gay man's horrific descent into paranoia.

Hypochondriac in Chinese is hypochondriasis or hypochondriasis, which refers to the mental state in which a person "unreasonably believes that he or she is sick or about to be sick".

This film is the first feature film directed by Addison Heimann. Will (Zach Villa), a successful young ceramic artist, has a loving boyfriend (Devon Graye) and a happy life, but he has a traumatic past that he works hard to forget. When his estranged mother contacts him again ten years later, he begins to hallucinate and repeatedly sees a man in wolf clothing.

Unfortunately for Will, no one else seems to be able to see the masked beings. As he slowly loses his grip on the real world, he finds himself drawn into the same darkness that consumed his mother. A huge gap began to appear between him and his boyfriend and the life he had built.

"Hypochondriac" has been screened at major film festivals in the past year and received a lot of discussion.

"Hypochondriac" will be released in limited release on July 29, US time.
