Recently, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly issued the "Notice on Strengthening the Management of Scripted Entertainment Business Venues" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice") , for the first time, new formats of scripted entertainment business venues such as scripted killings and escape rooms have been included in the management of nationwide.
In order to strengthen the protection of minors, the "Notice" requires that scripts used in scripted entertainment business venues should set age-appropriate reminders to indicate the appropriate age range. Among them, if the scene set up is not suitable for minors, a reminder should be given in a prominent position, and minors must not be allowed to enter. The "Notice" stipulates that except for national statutory holidays, rest days and winter and summer vacations, scripted entertainment business premises shall not provide scripted entertainment activities to minors.
The "Notice" clarifies that the business scope of scripted entertainment business venues is "scripted entertainment activities" and is subject to informative filing. Scripted entertainment business premises shall, within 30 calendar days from the date of operation, report the address of the business premises and the name, author, introduction, age range and other information of the scripts and scripts used in the venue to the county where the business premises are located through the National Cultural Market Technical Supervision and Service Platform. It has been filed with the cultural and tourism administrative department at the national level. If a new script is added to , or if there are substantial changes in the story background, plot and other main contents of the script, the above information of the script should be reported to the original filing department for filing within 30 natural days from the date of use. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism is responsible for formulating guidelines for the registration of scripted entertainment activities.
