competition is of great value, and all first-class 985 participated. Judging from the number of first prizes, nearly half of the 211 universities did not win the first prize, which shows that the students' competitiveness of Hunan University of Science and Technology is still very good.
Recently, the 9th National University Biological Network Design Competition ( Huawei Cup) National Finals came to an end in Changsha. The two teams led by Liu Wenkang and He Yuxuan, a member of the "KingCola-ICG Team" of our school's School of Computer Science and Engineering, under the guidance of Professor Wang Xiaoliang and of , went through the preliminary review of the Central and Southwest sub-districts, the final evaluation of the sub-districts, the national finals test, and the national finals evaluation. Finally, they won the first and second prizes of the national finals respectively, achieving a zero breakthrough in the first prize of the national finals in this event.

This competition attracted Shanghai Jiaotong University , National University of Defense Technology , Zhejiang University , Harbin Institute of Technology Harbin Institute of Technology Harbin Institute of Technology Harbin University of Technology Harbin University of Technology , Harbin University of Technology . Southeast University , Xiamen University , Wuhan University , Wuhan University , Nanjing University and other 1417 teams, 7081 participating students and more than 1,500 instructors signed up to participate; after the preliminary and finals of the sub-districts of the Northeast Division, North China Division, Northwest Division, Central and Southwest Division, and East China Division, they were selected. 163 teams represent their respective universities to participate in the national finals. After nearly 4 months of fierce review, a total of 62 first prizes in the country were awarded, with the first prize winning rate of only 0.88%; 52 second prizes in the country were awarded, with the second prize winning rate of only 0.74%; 49 third prizes in the country were awarded, with the third prize winning rate of only 0.69%; a total of 163 final awards were awarded, with the total national first, second and third prizes in the finals being awarded only 2.31%.

Taking improving students' comprehensive quality as the starting point, we integrate innovation and practice into the professional training process. The KingCola-ICG student team was established in 2017 and was formed by Wang Xiaoliang, director of the Internet of Things Department of the School of Computer Science and Engineering. The team won more than 40 national awards and more than 70 provincial awards in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions such as Internet + , Creation Youth , and computer competitions in China University Computer Competition and Internet of Things Competition. The results of this competition not only break the competition record since the establishment of the team, but also our school is a vivid practice of deepening the reform of the talent training mechanism and committed to the cultivation of innovative high-quality talents.
