Recently, the " International Chinese Education Southern Alliance Founding Conference and the First International Chinese Education Southern Forum" was successfully held. Hainan Normal University School of International Education and other 12 invited units were elected as the executive director units of the International Chinese Education Southern Alliance . Professor Yang Yiqi of the college was elected as the executive director, and Associate Professor Mu Zhengli was elected as the director.

Yang Yiqi started teaching at the School of Liberal Arts of Hainan Normal University in July 2011. He is currently a professor at the School of International Education at Hainan Normal University and a professor at the Hainan Language Research Center at Hainan Normal University. He holds a master's degree in linguistics and applied linguistics. Professor Yang Yiqi is mainly engaged in Chinese international education, documentary language and comparative research on ethnic languages. During his tenure, he published 2 books and more than 30 papers in domestic and foreign academic journals. His works won the third prize of the Hainan Provincial Social Science Outstanding Achievements Award twice and the Hainan Higher Education Institutions Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award once.
Mu Zhengli, associate professor. Published 18 academic journal papers and 3 international conference papers (1 CPCI-SSH retrieval). He has rich scientific research experience and has presided over 1 provincial education reform project, 1 provincial education department project, and 1 school-level project. Participated in 1 national social science project, 2 provincial philosophy and social science projects, and 3 department-level projects. Teach courses such as multimedia-assisted second language teaching, second language acquisition, pragmatics , discourse analysis, contrastive linguistics, and translation theory and practice.
In the context of the new era, strengthening the strength of international Chinese education is the key to the high-quality development of international Chinese education, which puts forward new demands for its sustainability. " The Fourteenth Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of the People's Republic of China and Outline of Long-term Goals for 2035" clearly proposes to build a Chinese communication platform, a global communication system for Chinese language and culture, and an international Chinese education standard system.
International Chinese Education Southern Alliance includes the initiative initiator, Southeast Asian Chinese Teacher Education College of South China Normal University, as well as co-organizers, governing units, and supporting units, a total of 36 universities and institutions. The establishment of the alliance will gather and link forces and resources from all walks of life, strengthen the construction of international Chinese education collaboration mechanisms, play a leading role in the high-quality development of international Chinese education, and build a new pattern of "co-construction, co-governance and sharing" of international Chinese education.

Hainan Normal University is the first school in Hainan Province to carry out Chinese education for international students. In May 1988, the Center for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language was established and began to recruit foreign students. In July 2008, it was renamed the School of International Cultural Exchange. College Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language is divided into two categories: non-academic education and academic education. Academic education arranges and organizes teaching strictly in accordance with the teaching syllabus promulgated by the state, and has two levels: undergraduate and master's degree. Non-academic education mainly includes four categories: Chinese language training, foreign Chinese teacher teaching material training and volunteer selection training, and Southeast Asian teacher training. After years of construction, the School of International Education has a team of full-time teachers of Chinese as a foreign language who are younger in age, have higher academic qualifications, and have a reasonable professional title structure. The vast majority of the 39 faculty members have overseas teaching experience.
In 2007, the school opened the major of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, and in 2013, it was renamed as the major of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. It is the only master's degree program in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages in Hainan universities, and has established the only experimental phonetics and computational linguistics laboratory in Hainan universities. The major focuses on Chinese-English bilingual teaching , focusing on cultivating students with solid language theory, Chinese teaching theory and English foundation, as well as a comprehensive understanding of Chinese culture and cross-cultural communication, and is mainly oriented to high-level teaching of Chinese as a foreign language in Southeast Asian countries. Professional talents, as well as applied talents engaged in work related to language and cultural communication and exchange in various functional departments, foreign trade agencies, press and publishing, enterprise management, etc.
