As people become more and more lazy, the recovery system has become easier and easier. Let’s learn from Xiao A!
Note:
Please back up important information in the computer before restoring the system, and make sure to connect to the power supply during recovery and do not force shut down!
1, local or cloud reinstall
is suitable for situations where you can enter the system normally
Windows 11
in turn enter [Start] [Settings] [Windows Update] [Advanced Options] [Recover], and click [Initialize Computer] next to "Reset This Computer".
Windows 10
sequentially enter [Settings] [Update and Security] [Recover], and click [Start] below "Reset This Computer".
▷ The following operations Win10/11 system is basically the same. The picture takes Win11 as an example
Select [Retain My Files] or [Delete All Content] as needed, and select [Cloud Download] (a function supported from the Win10 2004 version) or [Local Reinstall].
Note: Cloud downloads may consume more than 4GB of data traffic. Please stay connected to the Internet and confirm your network environment.
If you choose to delete all content
After selecting [Cloud Download] or [Local Reinstall], the current settings will be displayed.
Click [Change settings] to continue to choose whether to "delete only your files", whether to "delete provisioned packages from the workspace" (the provisioned packages have not been created by default, no settings need to be changed) and whether to "reinstall Windows from this device".
If you choose to keep my file
Still select [Cloud Download] or [Local Reinstall], display the current settings.
Click [Change Settings] to continue to select whether to "restore the applications and settings included with this computer" and whether to "Download and reinstall Windows".
If you select all [No]
will "reinstall Windows from this device" and "delete the application installed by the computer manufacturer (i.e., ASUS preinstalled software)" (equivalent to "reset" in the previous version of Win10 2004).
▷ If the system is abnormal or the file used for reset is corrupted, the above ordinary "reset" will not be completed. Please select [Yes] under "Download and Reinstall Windows", and follow the prompts to automatically download Windows and reinstall it online.
2, WinRE Restore and reinstall
is suitable for situations where the system is damaged and cannot be entered
MyASUS in Cloud Restore in WinRE
Equipped with Intel's twelfth generation Core processor (Alder lake) and AMD Ryzen 6000 processor (Rembrandt) or higher Asus laptop , supports MyASUS in WinRE cloud restore to backup important data from the computer to external devices and reinstall the latest factory software version.
Note: Regardless of whether the storage device has a partition or not, cloud restore will restore the storage device to its factory initial state. Therefore, before starting cloud restore, be sure to back up important data in all partitions .
Operation steps
After pressing the power button, quickly press F12 key (or F9 key) several times to enter the [Select an option] interface. Click [Troubleshooting] [MyASUS in WinRE] in turn.
Click [Cloud Restore] to select the available wireless network connection, confirm whether a backup file is required, and follow the prompts, and the system will automatically download and install files from the cloud.
cloud restore program starts. Please keep the network open and keep the power connected. This process will take about 1-3 hours. The specific time depends on the network environment and computer configuration.
This process will consume about 10-12GB of traffic. If you use a billing network, you need to pay attention to traffic consumption. During this period, the computer may restart multiple times or the screen is black, which is normal. Please do not operate and be patient. After the cloud restore is successful, the computer will be restored to its factory state.
▷ If the failure occurs due to network interruption or other reasons during the cloud restore execution, please re-execute the cloud restore program.
Cloud download
If [MyASUS in WinRE] cannot be found during the WinRE interface, the computer does not support this function.
Please select [Troubleshooting] [Reset this computer] after entering WinRE, select [Restore My Files] or [Delete All Content] as needed, and select [Cloud Download] to reinstall.
ASUS Recovery
Some gaming notebooks/desktops support ASUS Recovery function. Please select [Troubleshooting] [ASUS Recovery] after entering WinRE.
Follow the prompts to complete the operation, wait until the new Windows experience screen appears on the computer, which means that the operation of restoring the original system has been completed. Next, just like experiencing a new machine, you can operate step by step.
