Withings launches hybrid ScanWatch Horizon luxury diving smartwatch

Withings today announced the sale of ScanWatch Horizon luxury diving smartwatches in the German, French and British markets, featuring a hybrid design of digital screen + traditional mechanical hands. If you hate the appearance of ordinary wearable devices that focus on health tracking, and do not want to be bombarded by various push notifications from mobile phones, Withings ScanWatch Horizon may be a good choice.

The watch may land in the US market in the fourth quarter.

Withings said that the design inspiration of ScanWatch Horizon comes from "luxury diving watches" such as Submariner / Seamaster.

These factors can be seen from the titanium surface, the non-reflective sapphire glass case, the stainless steel rotating bezel, and the hands with luminous light.

It should be noted that ScanWatch Horizon only supports 10 ATM water resistance, which means it is not suitable for deep diving.

For comparison, the Rolex / Omega diving watch usually supports a deep dive of 300 meters (980 feet). However, for swimming, surfing, snorkeling , and other types of water activities over 100 meters (330 feet), ScanWatch Horizon is still stress-free.

In terms of fitness tracking, the watch can automatically identify and track more than 30 activities including walking, running, swimming, cycling, etc. In addition, it has built-in Bluetooth function, can track and record the route with the help of mobile phone GPS, and the longest battery life can reach 30 days. The data collected by

will be synchronized back to the Withings Health Mate app on the mobile phone (supporting iOS / Android apps are provided). In addition to viewing analysis reports, it can also be shared with third-party health services such as Apple Health, Google Fit, and Strava.

Withings also equips ScanWatch Horizon with a large number of sensors including heart rate and blood oxygen. When it detects abnormal signs such as arrhythmia, it will also prompt the wearer to record 30 seconds of "medical grade" ECG data.

In addition, like the original ScanWatch released last year, the new product still supports sleep tracking, which can detect and warn the wearer of possible sleep apnea and other diseases.

However, due to the need to obtain FDA approval, both products have not been successfully sold in the United States. If all goes well, Withings may announce good news within a few weeks. (Previously approved by European, Australian and British regulatory authorities)

Finally, ScanWatch Horizon is now available in the UK, France and Germany, priced at 499.95 Euros/Pound (approximately 3763~4355 RMB).
