Earlier, Reciva announced that they will permanently close the service on January 31, 2021. Then, due to pressure from Internet radio manufacturers such as Kerin and Grace Audio, this date was postponed to April 30, 2021.
April 30th passed quickly, but everyone found that Reciva's service was no different. Since then, many people here are commenting that their Internet radio is still working, and I am very happy.
It seems that at some point on September 13 or 14, 2021, Reciva's service finally shut down.
Before Reciva announced the suspension of service on April 30, 2021, many Internet radio users "jailbroken" their Internet radio, basically circumventing the Reciva Internet radio collection platform. Later, we learned that Internet radios with built-in Reciva chips may need to refresh the token regularly to ensure that the radio functions normally. People in the industry have confirmed the use of the token system, but no one can confirm whether the system will brick the Internet radio in the "post-Reciva era".
