According to previously exposed spy photos, the new car adopts the Hongqi brand family design style, and the large-size grille is faintly visible under heavy camouflage. In addition, the new car uses long and narrow split headlights, plus the convex ridges on the engine cover, and the nose-down attitude of the car, adding a sense of movement to the whole car.
Judging from the spy photos of the interior, the overall design of the new car is very simple, with a large suspension central control screen and a red flag-style electronic gear handle. In addition, the rear floor of this car is flat, and more storage space is also designed in the car, which guarantees its practicality. From the power point of view, this car may be equipped with an electric motor with a maximum power of 140kW.
It is reported that in order to meet the requirements of vehicle production, Hongqi has started to renovate the Ulsan plant since April 2019. Public information shows that the Ulsan plant is located in the Changchun High-tech Industrial Development Zone. It is divided into Plant One and Plant Two, equipped with a stamping workshop, a welding workshop, a painting workshop, a general assembly workshop, an office building, and public auxiliary facilities. Its comprehensive annual production capacity reaches 400,000 vehicles.
Hongqi E111 will use the refitted three workshops of stamping, welding and painting and the final assembly workshop of the first factory for production. Its body-in-white welding will be mixed with Atez and Mazda CX-4; the final assembly will be mixed with Hongqi HS5, Hongqi H5 and other models.
