Looking at the domestic automobile market in recent years, against the background of new energy vehicles overtaking traditional fuel vehicles in corners, new car-making brands have suddenly emerged. The most popular car this year is the AITO car, which launched three new cars just one year after its establishment, delivered more than 10,000 copies in several consecutive months, and set one record after another. In the eyes of some people, the AITO World Series may just be a new model born under the halo of and Huawei . However, after a little research, it is not difficult to find that it is the product of Huawei's cross-border deep empowerment of the automotive industry. It is a successful test of Huawei's definition, Huawei design and Huawei quality control. Taking "Huawei Quality Control" as an example, under the cross-border integration of traditional car companies and ICT companies, AITO cars are high-quality products with "double excellence" in manufacturing capabilities and quality control. Under the guidance of Huawei's strategy of helping car companies "build good cars", Huawei has given full play to its technological advantages and provided in-depth empowerment in AITO product quality control.

One of the outstanding examples is the strict control of the entire process of the automobile's increasingly complex "neural network system" - the wiring harness, so as to achieve a qualitative improvement in the product quality and user experience of the QJ series models.

The reason why the wiring harness is called the "neural network system" of the car is because there are a large number of connecting wiring harnesses in the car, connecting various components of the car to realize information communication between the modules. But precisely because there are so many connected parts and they often come from different suppliers, it is not easy to ensure quality.

Since wire harness production is a labor-intensive industry, most of the key processes such as plugging/connecting/installation during the production process still rely on manual operations, and there is currently no effective detection technology for the performance of key components. In order to reduce the uncertainty caused by manual operations, Huawei has worked with suppliers to improve the automation of wire harness production and automate key processes such as wire harness feeding, stripping, assembly, crimping, and insertion. This not only improves production efficiency but also effectively ensures the product quality of wire harnesses.

After Huawei empowered AITO, it also upgraded the supplier's testing standards and equipment. Based on the characteristics and actual needs of the AITO model, Huawei and the supplier jointly customized a new wire harness electrical inspection station, and added wire harness connector pin withdrawal and crooked pin detection that 90% of OEMs have not used to ensure the quality of the wire harness is safe and reliable. At the same time, in the production process of AITO World series models, a re-inspection process of incoming materials that is generally not adopted by traditional car companies has been added to prevent potential risks caused by missed inspections of incoming materials or problems during transportation.

During the vehicle equipment process, the connections between the wiring harnesses in the vehicle are all realized by plugging. There are hundreds of wiring harness connectors in the entire vehicle, and there are more than 50 involving key parts such as the power system. Due to its large number and complex locations, the current wiring harness connection still requires manual operation. However, the consistency of manual work is difficult to ensure. Operation errors may lead to problems such as missed insertion, loose insertion, and incorrect connector points. These problems will directly affect the safety of the entire vehicle.

To this end, Huawei drew inspiration from the mobile phone manufacturing in southern factories and combined it with the characteristics of the automobile assembly process to bring an AI wire harness identification and inspection solution to replace the traditional inspection method of self-inspection and cross-inspection by visual inspection and touch inspection. AI wire harness identification can detect single points or continuous multiple points by taking photos with your mobile phone. The system will automatically upload the photos and perform AI detection matching with the background data, and finally feedback the results. With the support of this detection solution, the abnormal interception rate of wiring harness plugging is as high as 100%, which effectively avoids detection omissions caused by human factors and greatly promotes the improvement of vehicle quality.

Generally speaking, Huawei's control over wiring harnesses after empowering AITO involves all aspects. It uses its accumulated wiring harness experience in the mobile phone industry to not only improve the automation level of supplier's wiring harness production, but also adds wiring harness incoming material re-inspection and AI wiring harness identification and detection solutions, which greatly reduces the failure rate of wiring harnesses and ensures the long-term reliability of the Infinity Series models.

From AI wire harness detection, we seem to be able to see that Huawei's cross-border entry into the automotive industry has brought not only its own user experience-centered philosophy in the consumer electronics industry, but also its profound platform technology accumulation. Because of this, we have reason to believe that AITO has a bright future.
