Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will upgrade vehicles within the recall range to 2022.40 or higher software for free through automotive remote upgrade (OTA) technology, and users can complete the software upgrade without going to the store. For vehicles that cannot be recalled through Automobile Remote Upgrade (OTA) technology, Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will contact relevant users through Tesla Service Center to upgrade the software for the vehicle for free to eliminate safety hazards.

Tesla has recalled 6 times in the Chinese market

Previously, many models of Tesla have been exposed to involve incidents such as spontaneous combustion, brake failure and other incidents.

On November 24, according to media reports, netizens accused Tesla Model Y of spontaneous combustion caused several luxury cars to burn. Tesla official response said that it had asked the fire department to intervene in the investigation and said that there is no sign that the cause of the incident is related to Tesla vehicles. Tesla said it reserves the right to pursue legal responsibility for rumor-mongers. On November 13, a Tesla Model Y in Chaozhou, Guangdong ran 2.6 kilometers and hit multiple cars in succession, causing 2 deaths and 3 injuries. The owner of the car accident claimed through the media that he had stepped on the brakes but could not slow down. Tesla responded to this: "The backend data of the accident vehicle we retrieved showed that the owner did not step on the brakes throughout the process."

In fact, since June 2020, accidents about Tesla's "brake failure" have been frequently exposed. Such incidents occurred in Jiangxi, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Beijing, Jiangsu, Shenzhen and other places. According to incomplete statistics, from June to December 2020 alone, there were nearly ten accidents caused by sudden "braking failure" in Tesla vehicles. In January 2021 alone, there were four "out of control" accidents in Tesla vehicles, including Model 3, Model X and Model S.

Regarding many suspected brake failure incidents, Tesla China customer service staff said that the company's vehicle had completed vehicle safety tests including electric doors and brake pedals before it was sold.Most related accidents may be caused by the greater driving habits of electric vehicles than fuel vehicles. If the customer causes some accidents in this case, it has nothing to do with the vehicle's brake pedal. It also emphasized that if Tesla vehicles have problems with performance and safety, relevant institutions will definitely intervene and will not continue to be sold on the market.
