German modification factory Oettinger, which specializes in modifying Volkswagen models, specially selected for the R performance department to be established for 20 years, to launch a series of modification kits for Golf R, including aerodynamic kits and four forged wheels, but not power and control upgrades. Like Volkswagen GTI exclusive sports kit, the simple modification looks make it look more imposing!
Considering that Golf R has an exclusive sporty design that is different from other models, Oettinger has installed a set of more prominent front and lower spoilers on the front bumper without destroying the original design, and is matched with spoiler fins on both sides of the front bumper. The lower side skirt, rear bumper lower splitter and rear bumper are also extended based on the original design. Oettinger said this four-piece aerodynamic kit is suitable for all current Golf R models, including the additional R Performance package, and even the 20th anniversary special model launched with the R performance division 20 years ago.
In addition to the aerodynamic kit, Oettinger has also prepared four newly designed forged wheels, which can reduce the unsprung weight of about 8 kilograms. There are also bright silver and gold coatings to choose from. Although modified brake calipers can be seen in the wheels, and the chassis is lower from the ground level than the original factory settings, Oettinger did not mention the modification information related to handling. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine equipped with the Golf R also maintains the original output level, with 320 horsepower (the 20th anniversary edition has been increased to 333 horsepower), and there is no upgrade for power.
In addition, this set of aerodynamic kits and forged wheels have been opened for pre-order, and are expected to be officially launched in the first quarter of next year. The entire set of aerodynamic kits do not include forged wheels are priced at 2,785 euros. If you need to change to bright black paint, you will have to add an additional 1,090 euros. However, according to relevant promotional information, users who book before the end of October can enjoy a 20% discount.
I just don’t know how many domestic car owners are willing to pay for this set of modification kits!
