On September 29, the new Xiaopeng P7 was launched. The two new models were named 480G and 670G respectively. The former can be regarded as a new entry-level model, and its price is 219,900 yuan, which is 10,000 yuan lower than the starting price of the current model. The latter is priced at 256,900 yuan and has a cruising range of 706km. In addition, the future P7 models will also adopt a new naming method, namely model + NEDC battery life + smart gradient + special version (previously the rear-wheel drive long-life smart version, etc.), which is similar to the P5 and G3i naming methods.
P7 480G/670G model exterior/interior continues the design language of the current model, the overall sense of technology and fashion. In terms of configuration, the two new cars have added 12 comfort configurations, such as front seat heating, mobile phone wireless charging, surround-type ambient lights and LDW lane departure warning, etc., to further enhance the consumer car experience.
From the perspective of the price and positioning of the P7, the two new cars will continue to compete with BYD Han EV and Tesla Model 3, but the P7 is more advantageous in price than Model 3 . In August this year, P7 delivered 6,165 vehicles, accounting for 85% of the brand's overall sales, and it has set a record high for 4 consecutive months. Despite this, the P7 still has a certain gap with BYD Han (9,035 units in the same month). The launch of the new model will lower the threshold for P7 purchases, further improve the product matrix, and is expected to help sales increase.
