On September 26, Sun Wenjian, spokesperson of the Ministry of Transport, said at a press conference of the State Council Information Office that during the National Day holiday this year, the average daily traffic of highways across the country is expected to be about 45 million, an increase of about 5% over the same period in 2019. From a regional perspective, the first peak of the holiday is prominent, and the return time is relatively scattered in the later period. It is expected that travel will be concentrated in regions such as , Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, and Chengdu. Highway sections, urban airport highways, and local sections of highways leading to popular scenic spots are prone to congestion and slow traffic.

According to the preliminary estimates of the Ministry of Transport, during the holidays, G2 Beijing-Shanghai Expressway Tianjin Section, Jiangsu Wuxi Section and Suzhou Section, G15 Shenhai Expressway Guangdong Shenzhen Section, G25 Changshen Expressway Huizhou section of Guangdong, Shanghai section of S20 Outer Ring Expressway, etc. are prone to congestion and slow traffic. During the holiday return period, G2 Beijing-Shanghai Expressway Jiangsu Taizhou Section, G15 Shenhai Expressway Guangdong Shenzhen Section, G40 Shanghai-Shanxi Expressway Shanghai Section, etc. are prone to congestion and slow traffic.
