Volkswagen Group is only ranked 9th in the ranking of auto manufacturers in the U.S. market in 2020

According to the auto sales statistics of the US Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), the auto sales in the US market in 2020 will be 14,665,787, a decrease of 16.08% from the previous year. This is the largest annual decline in the US auto market since 2010 (affected by the financial crisis from 2008 to 2009).

Local car brands are still the first choice of the American people. In the manufacturer's sales rankings, General Motors ranked first with 2,537,590 sales. Toyota followed closely behind with sales of 2,112,940 vehicles. Ranked third is Ford , another local car company in the United States, with sales of 2,034,600 vehicles. The fourth to seventh places are FCA Group, Honda Motor, Hyundai Group, and Nissan Motor. The sales of these seven car companies exceeded one million in 2020. It is also worth mentioning that Volkswagen Group , which has achieved great success in China and Europe, sold only 567,545 vehicles in the United States, ranking ninth among all automakers.
