Recently, Honda finally released its first native pure electric car Prologue. The new car has previously released a preview picture. With the body length similar to the Guandao model, it has an ultra-long wheelbase of nearly 3.1m, showing the excellent genes of native pure electric cars. For example, the two models launched in China today also rely on sales to deceive the Binzhi Oil-modified electric car are obviously much higher-end. However, it is a bit regrettable that the car is still built on the General Group Ultra Energy platform, which is the brother models of the Cadillac Lyriq launched in China and the Chevrolet Blazer EV released overseas.
In terms of appearance, the new car does not have a very avant-garde appearance like Blazer or Ruige. You can see at a glance that it is a Honda model. The black decorative strips introduced by the Honda logo on the front face connect the polygonal headlight groups on the left and right sides. The style of the latter is somewhat similar to those of the CR-V, Accord and Pilot. There is no lens inside, but the thick daytime running lights above are not embellished, showing a strong Honda bloodline. The front bumper part has a huge trapezoidal lower grille, which mainly carries out heat dissipation tasks. The additional fog light sets on the left and right sides further enhance the practicality and sense of layering.
On the side of the car body, the new car has long lines, with ultra-short front and rear overhang and long wheelbase, showing a good futuristic feeling. The charging interface on the left front fender is exactly the same as Ruige and Blazer EV, showing the heritage of blood, and the large-size wheels are also quite avant-garde. According to information released overseas, the new car's measurements reached 4877/1989/1643mm and the wheelbase was 3094mm, which is exactly the same as the Lyriq Ruige. In fact, the width and height are quite close, but the front and rear suspension are more extreme, the body length is much shorter, and the overall proportion is more sporty, which is in line with the positioning of the Honda brand.
At the rear part, the new car is also very simple. It adopts a two-color light strip with red on the top and gray on the bottom, and is embedded on both sides of the black decorative strip. The Honda English letter logo in the middle has a brand new font, showing a sufficient futuristic feeling. With the AWD logo on the lower right corner of the trunk lid, it shows the identity of the electronically controlled four-wheel drive. Of course, the rear bar will not have Honda's ancestral naked exhaust, but will be replaced by large areas of silver and black guard panel nesting, which maintains a certain sense of exquisiteness.
In the interior, the new car is also amazing. It does not have the exaggerated shape of Ruige or Blazer EV, but adopts a serious dual large-size floating LCD screen design. Even because it has not been localized in the Chinese market, the screen size is not as good as the two models converted to electric power by Binzhi Oil. The horizontal and vertical center console and even the Civic -style steering wheel all show the strong bloodline of the Honda brand. Of course, the gear-carrying mechanism used by the new car has freed up a relatively abundant front area of the armrest box, but the latter does not seem to have much gorgeous and practical design. It is still just a simple storage compartment and cup holder, which is because it has plenty of space and seems to have practiced Honda's design philosophy.
Due to the Ultra Energy platform and huge size, such a pure electric car that is destined to be cheap still does not have much luxury at all. It makes people sigh that Honda's pragmatism is really deep in the bone marrow. In terms of power, there is currently no relevant information disclosed, but since it uses the Ultra Energy platform, it is obviously a brother model with the Lyriq Ruige and Blazer EV, and the new car should be equipped with a rear-drive basic configuration. It is also equipped with an advanced electronically controlled four-wheel drive system composed of front and rear chargers. Referring to the Ruige, which is more familiar to domestic consumers, the comprehensive maximum power of the high-end package can exceed 500 horsepower, the comprehensive torque is 710 Nm, and the acceleration from 100 kilometers can be controlled within 5 seconds, reflecting the strong performance it should be.
Due to the ultra-long wheelbase advantage brought by the native electric platform, the new car will also be equipped with a lithium battery pack of more than 90kwh, and the pure electric range can easily exceed 600km, which is much better than the oil-to-electric model. More information about the new car remains to be further announced by the official. In the US market, the car will be officially launched in 2024. As for when it can be introduced into China, we can only wait and see.
