According to US statistics, since 1998, 900 children have died of suffocation due to high temperatures. What is even more sad is that most of the situation is that careless drivers forget that there are still people left in the car. Of course, in order to reduce such incidents, there is currently a "rear seat reminder function" on the market to prevent drivers from leaving children, pets or items in the car, but for Volvo, which puts safety first, this is not good enough.
Therefore, Volvo has specially developed a "in-vehicle detection radar system", which can detect internal activities in the car in all aspects through the 60GHz radar sensor installed on the roof reading light and the rear luggage compartment, and its accuracy can reach the second millimeter level. For example, a baby who is sleeping can be sensed even if he only breathes gently. When the driver wants to lock the car, the vehicle detection radar system will automatically start. If the system detects someone or pet in the car, the vehicle will be kept unlocked and the driver will be reminded to check the situation in the car through the central control screen. Moreover, if the battery level allows, the vehicle will automatically start the air conditioning system to avoid high temperature suffocation.
The EX90, which is expected to be officially released on November 9, will take the lead in using in-car detection radar system, coupled with new generation safety technologies such as LiDAR optical system and DUS driving status sensing, so that this most "safe" Volvo Car , which has been in history, will continue to move towards the safety vision of "brand zero casualties".
