Recently, Netcom learned from overseas media that a new report stated that Chevrolet did not see a place for the Bolt series models in its long-term future plans. The report reportedly cites the shift from the Bolt's electric architecture to GM's latest Ultium platform as one of the biggest reasons the Bolt lineup will be discontinued.
Chevrolet Vice President of Marketing Steve Maros said that the Bolt series models will not appear in Chevrolet's future development plans, even though it is a very good product. If true, the Bolt series models will follow in the footsteps of the Chevrolet Volt and exit Chevrolet's product lineup. The Chevrolet Volt was discontinued in 2019, partly to make way for the Bolt series of models.
As early as the beginning of this year, a GM insider pointed out that the Bolt series models will be discontinued in the future as other products such as Silverado EV and Sierra EV are successively launched. Today, General Motors is conducting comprehensive innovations in its electrified products, and the Ultium platform is their latest masterpiece. Of course, as the new architecture product lineup gradually improves, it is not ruled out that General Motors will launch entry-level pure electric products based on the new platform.
