Today I will share with you how I shoot eclipse at home.
The first and most important thing is to prepare a solar observation film called "Bad Membrane". The real name of Bad Membrane is "AstroSolar" and the manufacturer is "Baader Planetarium". Because the company is transliterated as "Baader", this solar observation membrane is called "Baad Membrane" by astronomical enthusiasts.
Bader membrane specifications are only 3.8 and 5.0, which are distinguished by density. The density of 3.8 is mainly used for solar photography, corresponding to transmittance is about 16 parts per 100,000; the other density is 5.0, corresponding to 1 part per 100,000, which is darker. The Bad film of this density can be used for photography and is also suitable for observing the sun with naked eyes.
After having the Bad film, I made a simple paper tube that just happened to cover the telephoto lens , and fixed the Bad film with tape to ensure that there was no light leakage. As shown in the picture above, the most important preparation for shooting a solar eclipse is completed. ★Use light damage filter to shoot city Galaxy
Use Yulong UHC light damage filter, the following is the comparison of the original picture of the corner building Galaxy. Through the parameters in the upper right corner, you can see that under the same exposure and the same aperture and focal length, the UHC filter is ISO100, 20s without using, and the UHC filter is ISO200, 60S. It can be seen that the amount of light input after using the UHC filter is only 1/6 of that that is not used, effectively reducing a large amount of light damage. At the same time, it can be seen that the contrast between the Milky Way is stronger after using the UHC filter. By enlarging the picture by 100% you can see the obvious M20, M8, M16, and M17 nebula.
In addition to determining the weather before shooting, you should also plan the time and location of the shooting in advance. The position of the starry sky is different at every moment. You must plan the rise and fall time and relative position of the target you want to shoot. In addition, the shooting site should also be done in advance to determine the target direction, whether there is any obstruction around it, and whether there is any interference from strong light sources.
equipment needs to be prepared before shooting. It is worth mentioning that in many cases, there is obstruction or strong light interference in the position of North Star , which causes equatorial to be unable to face the polar axis. At this time, you need to rely on the level, compass , latitude adjustment seat and actual shooting situation to adjust.
Because the signal-to-noise ratio is seriously insufficient in shooting in a light-polluted environment, multiple shots are needed to facilitate the superposition of the signal-to-noise ratio in the later stage. The shooting parameters are based on the use of the body and focal length, and the exposure time is determined by the 300/400/500 rule (for example, 24mm, and the exposure time is 300/24≈12s using the 300 rule (with an equatorial meter, no need). ISO100/200, aperture 2.8/4 (determined based on the characteristics of your own equipment and actual exposure).
Due to the UHC filter characteristics, the original image taken will be color-castered more seriously, and color calibration is required first.

will cause different degrees of chromatic aberration, distortion and viscera to varying degrees due to the use of lenses, and can be corrected using optical tools. In severely light-polluted environments, shooting contrast is seriously insufficient and deep stretching is required. Stretch through the color level tool and then adjust through the curve tool.

★How to ensure power supply for winter power banks
Usually when we take pictures of the starry sky in winter, we need to remove fog belts and plug-in power banks. If the temperature is too low, it may cause the power of some camera batteries or power banks to fall off too quickly, which may cause a delay to be interrupted before the shooting is completed. In order to ensure normal shooting in a low-temperature environment, we can paste a few warm babies on our body on the way to the camera station in advance, and then set up the camera station, stick the warm baby on the power bank and put it in the lens bag or camera bag, so that the power bank can be guaranteed to provide normal power supply.
