The rocky volcanic coast of La Palma has many beautiful and interesting rock formations. I woke up at 6am and drove to photograph the sunrise. As I set up my tripod, the clouds began to turn purple and red... and within a few minutes, the sky began to burn. I used ND1.8 to slow down the shutter speed and smooth out the water and waves.

Incredible sunrise. Lenticular clouds fall over the Paine Massif, especially the tower, with the salt on the lagoon shore in the foreground.
In order to contrast the blue of the sky and the pink of the clouds, I used a CPL. In order to bring more vitality to the clouds, I used an ND1.8 filter.

I managed to catch this little ripper at high tide at a small free beach campground called Swimcart beach in the Bay of Fires. This was one of only two mornings when the sky decided to give me something to process, and that, coupled with this little entrance I'd discovered on a sunset walk the night before, gave me an image that I wasn't really chasing, but I am very happy.
