Shooting "The Cal™" is one of the most prestigious tasks in the fashion industry and is Summerton's dream for decades, she uses Sarah Moon, the first woman to shoot for Pirelli as an early source of inspiration. “So it was amazing when it happened,” she revealed. "It's like some kind of magic finally works."

Photographer Emma Summerton studied fine arts at the Sydney National Academy of Arts and is known for his bold creativity and artistic nature. This combined with her technical expertise and love for fashion makes her one of the most sought-after photographers in the industry today. She has been filmed extensively for Vogue, iD, Dazed & Confused and Nylon in the UK, Germany, Australia, Italy, Spain, Japan and China, while her commercial clients include Yves Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, Dior and Sony Music. During her career, Somerton has filmed music stars including Rihanna , Taylor Swift and Katy Perry , as well as actors George Clooney , Nicole Kidman and Carey Mulligan.

Someton moved to the UK in 1998 after working as a photographer assistant in Sydney . In London, she assisted Fiona Banner, an Turner Award nominee, to help take images for Banner’s first book and fell in love with fashion photography for the inspiring imagery of Vogue Italia edited by Franca Sozzani.
