This kind of initiative to give up power is naturally a "confused" move in the eyes of the world.
One year, Li Weiqing, the minister of the Central Government, was replaced by Taizong from the position of Privy Councilor in charge of the national military and became the censor Zhongcheng who was responsible for supervising all officials. During the Song Dynasty, wars were raging all over the world, and there was no internal unity. Xixia Li Jiqian rebelled, causing unrest on the western border, and Song sent troops to attack Xia. Song Baoanjun captured Li Jiqian's mother, and Song Taizong originally wanted to kill her.
For this reason, Song Taizong summoned Kou Zhun alone and asked him what his opinion was. At that time, Kou Zhun had no objections and presented it to him. When Kou Zhun was retreating from the court, he was seen by Lu Duan. Lu Duan guessed that there must be something major planned in the DPRK.

Lu Duan asked Kou Zhun: "How does the Holy One plan to deal with it?" When Lu Duan heard this, he hurriedly said: "If it is dealt with like this, it is not a good idea."
So Lu Duan went to court in person and proposed not to kill Li Jiqian's mother.
