The new year has arrived quietly, and there are only 5 days left in 2022. How has your year been?
Looking back on the whole year, have you had the following troubles:
The career path is getting narrower and narrower, and it seems that you can see the end at a glance;
Lack of enthusiasm and motivation for work, and you can’t get motivated to work;
I have been busy all day long, physically and mentally exhausted, and in the dead of night I look back at what I have done today. It is trivial and insipid, and I always feel that something is wrong in my heart;
Sometimes I am full of blood and rush forward, sometimes I lie flat and smash, often in two extremes. Wandering in the middle, swinging up and down like a scale;
grows slowly, every day is the same, and I can't feel the change. Suddenly, I look back and one year has passed. I don't know where the good youth has disappeared?
This year will come to an end soon, so how can we effectively break through the above bottlenecks next year? How to grow rapidly? How to break
Part 1
?
It is easy for us to think that the reason why successful people are successful is not that they are gifted and talented, or that they work extremely hard and are beyond the reach of others. Coupled with the right time, place and people, they have created an extraordinary life.
Many celebrities were just ordinary people before they became famous. It is said that Zeng Guofan was quite stupid in the first half of his life. He took the scientific examination 7 times before he became a scholar.
How can we amateurs escape from inaction, achieve ourselves, and live the life we want?
Have you ever noticed that when we first graduate and join the workforce, learn a new thing, or engage in a new job, at the beginning we are like sponges absorbing everything and growing rapidly.
However, growth is like a parabola. It soon slows down, reaches a peak, and encounters a bottleneck.
I read a lot of books, learned a lot of methods and tools, and split my time in half. I still can't break through the bottleneck by following the old path.
Jack Ma said: In fact, there is not much difference between people. 90% of people repeat 99% of the mistakes every day. Successful people know how to correct mistakes and find the right path.
To break the situation, we need to have a heart of "real change" and change from the inside out.
The Fourth Way Introductory Manual "Self-Observation" says:
If I react with the same thought and emotional patterns ten thousand times, or even more, even a fool like me will start to notice that I am going back to my old ways, and the results will always be the same!
This is really what a mortal spends his whole life doing, repeating the same thoughts, emotions and behavioral habits over and over again, but expecting different results.
If you have tried it a thousand times or ten thousand times, why not try a new path? Maybe it is the path to success and the other side of your dreams.
The real change is to change the state of self-awareness, change mental model , and change the way of thinking.
When these change, the behavior will change and the results will change accordingly.
Part 2
How to change "destiny"?
Jung has a very classic saying: Your subconscious is controlling your life, but you call it destiny.
When the subconscious mind is revealed and raised to the level of consciousness, destiny can be rewritten.
Our daily behaviors, thoughts, and subconscious emotional feelings are all controlled by the subconscious mind without us knowing it.
Human beings are the most advanced creatures on earth because we have a state of self-awareness. Simply put, our brains have extraordinary abilities of detached awareness.
We can jump out of our bodies at any time and observe ourselves, observing our thoughts, inner voices, emotions and feelings at this moment.
founded a company with a valuation of over US$1 billion. The fate of Mike A. Singer, the author of the best-selling book "The Surrender Experiment", was changed when he was 23 years old.
That day, he was sitting on the sofa in the living room at home talking to relatives. During a moment of silence, he suddenly realized that there was a quiet self observing a self who was anxious and embarrassed inside, desperately looking for topics.
At that moment, there is a distance between this "quiet self" and the "anxious me", and one "I" is observing the other "I". For the first time in his life, he was not an experiencer of thoughts and emotions, but an observer.
This subtle discovery changed his entire life. He later made significant contributions in the fields of business, art, education, medical care and environmental protection.
When we jump out of the physical body to observe ourselves, a distance is created between the observer "I" and the observed "I", forming a space. I call it "awareness space".
In this awareness space, the observer "I" is awake and rational. He sees the dilemma of "I" in the situation and also sees that "I" have many choices.
Have you ever had the experience of being in the "awareness space"?
I believe many people have experienced it, but they just didn’t pay attention or couldn’t remember it.
So the difficulty is here. We are unconscious about it and never feel that there is a problem, so we will not reflect on it, let alone change.
is controlled by the subconscious mind, thoughts come automatically, emotions come suddenly, words that should not be said are said easily, and things that should not be done are done by conditioned reflex. This is called "unknowingly".
The effectiveness of coaching lies in creating "awareness space." Through effective questions, feedback, and scientific process tools, we help the coachees see themselves, become aware, and gain insights in this space, thereby finding clear and clear answers.
In fact, when you are alone, you can create an “awareness space” anytime and anywhere. For example, through review.
Part 3
The essence of review
Is review just about making records and summarizing?
Does review mean to reflect on what you did well and what you didn’t do well and how to improve it?
Is review just about thinking about what to do next time?
The above is just the "shape" of the review.
The truly effective review is to create a space of awareness and observe the "heart".
Look inward and observe your own thoughts.
Start from the events that occurred, from the current emotional reaction, and from the thoughts, to observe the beliefs, patterns, habits, internal assumptions, thinking methods, etc. reflected behind them.
Review and change anytime and anywhere. This is a very high-level review thinking.
At the beginning of last year, I launched several 21-day meditation camps.
The design of this 21-day meditation group training camp is very precise. In addition to doing ten minutes of meditation alone every day, there is also a small homework.
Participants have completed their homework every day and only need to send three words "completed" in the group to continue to stay in the group practice camp. If they do not complete it on time, I will take them out of the group study camp.
This rule creates numerous opportunities to create “awareness space.”
For me as the initiator, it is the same for the participants. I ask myself tons of questions every day:
Many people don’t send the “Completed” action . Do I need to be reminded in the group? What is my motivation for reminding? Is it a purely altruistic act, or is it an act of ego worship?
If someone keeps not completing on time. I want to talk to him privately and see what I can do? Or should we just take him out of the group as agreed? What influences my choice?
Someone privately messaged me to object, and I subconsciously had an uncomfortable reaction . Why this reaction? Is it fear of difficulty? Is it irritability? Is it fear? Could I have reacted differently? What influenced me to have this knee-jerk reaction? What do I need to change?
I observed the struggle of my ego. When I saw the choices I made, I asked myself if I wanted to change? This process is uncomfortable, tangled, and enjoyable.
21 days of meditation, every day is like dissecting yourself with a scalpel and looking carefully with a magnifying glass. I did three sessions in a row for a total of 63 days. After the third period of
, I feel like I have really transformed.
The body becomes sensitive and can quickly receive intuitive signals. The situation of unconsciousness is decreasing, and the state of hindsight and awareness is increasing.
Life has become easy and happy. When doing cases, it is easy to create a safe field for the other party and ask questions that go straight to the core.
There are two very popular words: "cultivation by doing" and "learning by doing".
Cultivation of the mind behind it through "things", and learning high-level observation and thinking through "doing".
One flower and one world, one thought and one heaven.
Real growth is the growth of the heart, the growth of thinking, and the upgrading and iteration of cognition. Only in this way can we truly promote changes in behavior and the arrival of results.
game is over!
