Season of swallows nesting, the freshly-turned earthy atmosphere is everywhere. As soon as I entered the classroom, I saw a flower pot filled with soil. The damp soil is delicate and loose, needless to say, it was the ones that the children pinched and put into it after using their hands.
I asked, "What did you plant?"
The children told excitedly that it was a kind of flower that would not bloom until autumn.
Autumn! So long! Can the children's restless hearts endure such a long wait?
However, the seeds have been planted, so wait patiently.
On a warm sunny morning, I walked up to the flower pot and saw a few buds drilled out of it, thin and white, like a baby in a swaddling clothes. I looked at this strange world curiously.
I heard my heart beating. I looked at the children with appreciation, and they looked at me happily, with beautiful brilliance in their eyes. A sacred sense of mission surged into my heart, and I felt that the bud had grown in my heart.
A few days passed, but the bud did not grow very tall, white and thin, and his head lowered, as if he was a little shy. The children could no longer wait, so they kept pouring water into the flower pot, and they thought that a large pot of flowers would bloom in the blink of an eye.
I said, "You are too spoiled about it. If you always water it, it will wilt. Move outside to dry it, what it needs more is sunshine."
So every day, the children will move the flowerpots out to bathe in the sun for a while, and then move them back to the classroom. As day by day, the buds gradually turn into small green seedlings. But one day, they were attacked by a heavy rain outside, and several leaves were broken. The children felt very distressed and took care of their green dreams more carefully.
Every day when I walk into the classroom, the first thing that catches my eyes is the intoxicating cluster of green on the windowsill. They seem to welcome me and tell me: life is growing vigorously.
In summer, seedlings have grown significantly taller. The thick stems and wide and green leaves make people unable to believe that they were the young buds that grew up in the past; however, there are no signs of blooming. The dense leaves tell me that I don’t know how high this seedling will stop and bloom with peace of mind.
One sunny morning, I was suddenly surprised to find that the seedlings were full of pink flowers. I was surprised: Yesterday was not in bud, why is it blooming today? Moreover, it’s only summer now, isn’t it meant that autumn will bloom?
I walked over and looked carefully: the pink flowers, although not beautiful, look energetic. A few drops of dew on the petals shine in the morning light. Surprisingly! I found that there was no dew on the flowers and leaves. Why do there are dewdrops on the flowers but not on the leaves? After looking closer, I finally found the secret: it turned out that these flowers were picked from the wilderness and put on them.
I raised my head and looked at the children with relief. This is the best time of the day, and the kids are reading in the morning. These country kids, although most of them were ragged and malnourished, were in good spirits. With the sound of reading, I smelled the fragrance of flowers. I turned my eyes to the pink flowers again. I understood that the children were waiting and eagerly letting the flowers bloom first.
In the days after that, I can see all kinds of flowers blooming on the seedlings every day, red, pink, yellow, pure white... The first flower has not withered yet, and the other flower has bloomed on the branches again. Each flower is a dream, entrusting the children's colorful dreams. I know that the unknown flower seedlings they carefully cared for, no matter whether they bloom in autumn or not, whether they bloom beautifully or not, the flowers they planted with their dreams have already bloomed in their hearts.
Because, the process of waiting for the flowers to bloom is to bloom.
