Build a fire pit in the summer
There will be no cold in winter
In my memory when I was very young, there was almost no severe cold in winter. Early in the morning Get up and sit in front of the fire pit, eating hot roasted sweet potatoes and roasted potatoes. It warms your heart from mouth to heart. As long as the sun comes out at noon, your whole body will be warmed. At sunset, grandpa's small fire pit begins to light up. I lit up the red fire, sat around in front of the fire pit, and fell asleep while roasting. I passed the whole winter without knowing it, and I never felt the severe cold in my heart.
Fire pits are a rare part of the home for Yunnan people. Every household has them in different shapes. Even in the wilderness where there are no fire pits or braziers, a fire will be lit to keep warm while ensuring safety. Can be satiating. When we were young, we were studying, and our teacher was from this village. He said that where there is fire, there are companions. This is how the word "partner" comes from. I didn't understand it when I was young, but later I realized that where there is fire, there is warmth and food, both of which are irresistible.
I stayed at Pu'er for a month last time. My friends and I spent every day in front of the fire pit, either making food or warming up by the fire. Even though the weather is no longer cold, I still feel that the smell of fireworks in the fire pit will make people more relaxed. happiness. The scattered fire pits that I have been using at home are almost broken. When I was building the house, I originally wanted to build a fire pit at the entrance. But then I built a bread kiln and there was not much space. , I didn’t do it, but in the end this location was the most suitable.
There were some unused bricks at the door of my house, so I used them to build a square fire pit, with mud, water and mud as the bottom. Let it dry naturally for about 15 days before you can light the fire. I picked up a pig trough rack used by Uncle Ping to feed piglets, and after processing and modifying it, I used it as a pot rack, which was perfect.
The old man said that the new stove at home needs to burn the fire vigorously, so let's burn gray tofu. Put wheat straw in the pot and heat it up, add white tofu cut into small pieces, heat it over low heat, and use the temperature of the wheat straw to slowly evaporate the water on the surface of the tofu. After 4 hours, half of the water in the tofu has evaporated, and the outside is burnt inside. It's tender and has a hint of sweetness from the bean flavor. It's much tastier than fried dried tofu.
Gray tofu and boiled sour bamboo shoots is a Yunnan dish that makes me drool when I think about it. But our family loves meat, so let’s add two fish, fry them until golden and set aside. Stir-fry ginger and garlic millet spicy in the pot, add pickled sour bamboo shoots and stir-fry half dry, add water, tomatoes and gray tofu, salt, soy sauce, pepper and other condiments, bring to a boil, pour into the hanging pot with fish, sprinkle Lao Burmese coriander, simmered slowly over low heat. The charm of sour bamboo shoots is that it can be paired with any food. No matter how you eat it, it is extremely appetizing and memorable.
Use the charcoal under the fire to grill some meat. Axia went to buy the beef and pork belly early in the morning, marinated them and skewered them on bamboo skewers. They placed them in a circle around the pot rack. The charcoal fire slowly roasted until oil came out. The fragrance is irresistible.
Our family is very supportive. Every time I make something to eat, they eat it all. There is not a single bit left in this pot of sour bamboo shoots, gray tofu, fish and this pot of barbecue. Even the lemonade made by Axia is gone. After being drunk, only a few scattered slices of lemon were left.
This firepit was built just before summer, and I haven’t rested almost every day since it was built. Now that the weather is getting cooler, there is no need to worry about the cold in winter.
