偈 子

【唐】神秀

身是菩提樹，

心如明鏡台。

時時勤拂拭，

勿使惹塵埃。

神秀（606-706）,俗姓李，汴州尉氏（今河南開封尉氏）人。唐代高僧，禪宗五祖弘忍弟子，北宗禪創始人。少習經史，博學多聞。

Shen Xiu (606-706), Li by secular surname, a native of Weishi, Bianzhou (present-dayWeishi County, Kaifeng, Henan Province). An eminent monk of the Tang dynasty, he was a disciple of Hong Ren, the fifth ancestor of the Zen sect, and the founder of the Northern Zen sect. Having learned Confucian classics and history since young, the poet was very learned and well-informed. (呂汶炫 譯)
