Established as "a new highland for knowledge creation, a free hub for international talents, a source of innovation in the GBA, and a demonstration zone for open cooperation", the Knowledge City has grown into a "knowledge fulcrum" for leveraging the high-quality development of the GBA.

As a national bilateral cooperation project, the Knowledge City has transformed into an important engine for the high-quality development of the GBA, and the core platform of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Science and Technology Innovation Corridor. According to Chen Changxin, President of China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Investment and Development Co., by integrating the resources of government and enterprises on both sides, the Knowledge City has become a key hub to support the GBA to deeply participate in global industrial innovation.
At present, it is home to over 1,000 pioneering technology enterprises, and a number of Singaporean companies, such as SP Group, LionTCR, and Biosyngen, are translating their technological achievements into products here. In addition, the Knowledge City is strengthening cooperation with Singapore in the field of medicine and exploring the pilot of the regional medicine review and approval system under the RCEP framework.

如今來看，中新廣州知識城已蝶變為國家級雙邊合作項目、粵港澳大灣區高質量發展的重要引擎、廣深港澳科技創新走廊核心平台。作為中新合作的重要橋樑和紐帶，中新廣州知識城投資開發有限公司總裁陳長新告訴記者，通過鏈接中新雙方政企資源，中新廣州知識城已成為支撐粵港澳大灣區深度參與全球產業協同創新的關鍵樞紐。
目前，中新廣州知識城聚集超過1000家前沿科技企業，新加坡能源集團、來恩生物、百吉生物等一批新加坡科技成果也在知識城轉移轉化。此外，中新廣州知識城正與新加坡加強醫藥領域合作，探索RCEP（《區域全面經濟夥伴關係協定》）區域醫藥審評審批體系先行先試。
