Reading Hastily and Without Thinking

Once upon a time, there was a young man who was eating a pear while walking.

囫圇吞棗

從前,有一個年輕人,他邊走路邊吃著梨。

這時候,迎面走過來一位老人。看到年輕人大口地吃著梨,他忍不住說:「年輕人啊,梨可不宜吃得太多。雖然它對牙齒有好處,但是吃多了對脾胃不好。」

年輕人聽了,連忙從口袋裡拿出幾顆棗,問老人:「那棗怎麼樣呢?對身體好不好?」

老人回答:「棗倒是有補脾的作用,但是吃多了會傷害牙齒。」

年輕人聽了,想了一會兒,又眉開眼笑了。

他對老人說:「哦,我有辦法了。我可以吃梨的時候,只在嘴裡嚼一嚼,不咽到肚子里去;吃棗的時候,不用牙齒咬,把棗整顆吞下去。這樣,就可以既不傷脾胃,又不壞牙齒了。」 說完,把棗放進嘴裡,一口吞了下去,結果立刻被噎住了。
