1What does it mean to know yourself? How well do you know yourself?了解你自己意味着什麼？你有多了解自己？
1.1mean的用法
①mean動詞，「打算；有……意圖」，後面接名詞、代詞、不跟賓語、動詞不定式，不定式的複合結構。
mean to do sth 的意思是：打算(想要)做某事。此時的主語只能是「人」。
I mean to get to the top by sunrise. 我打算在日出時到達山頂。
②mean動詞，「意味着」，後面可以接名詞、動名詞、從句。
mean doing sth 的意思是：意味着(要)做某事。此時的主語不能是「人」。
This means helping you. 這意味着幫助你。
2 Is it important to choose the right path for your dreams? Why?選擇適合你夢想的道路重要嗎？為什麼？
2.1It is/was important to do sth.干某事很重要。
2.2choose the right path for ...為……選擇正確/合適的道路。

4.1ambition[æmˈbɪʃn]名詞，追求的目標;夙願;野心;雄心;志向;抱負。
①泛指「雄心；野心」時，多用作不可數名詞；
②指具體的志願或理想時，可用作可數名詞；
③作「抱負；熱望」解時，用複數形式。
4.2dream可數名詞，夢想。
5Some of us have no idea, but others have clear goals.
我們中有一些人沒有什麼想法， 但是其他人都有明確的目標。
5.1have no idea不知道，對……一無所知，感到茫無頭緒;不想。
5.2have clear goals有清晰的目標。
6Some students want to be fishermen,some want to be policemen or policewomen,and some want to be artists.一些學生想成為漁民，一些人想成為男警察或者女警察，一些人想成為藝術家。
6.1注意fisherman、policeman 與policewoman的複數形式為變其中的man 為men。
7There are so many good choices.有許多好的選擇。
7.1.so通常置於所修飾的形容詞、副詞之前。so修飾「a(an)＋形容詞＋名詞」時,排列順序為「so＋形容詞+a（an）＋名詞」。
I」ve never seen so amusing a film.我從來沒有看過這麼有趣的電影。
7.2choice可數名詞，選擇。
make a choice作出選擇。
have no choice but to do sth.除了做某事之外別無選擇。
8It's hard to choose just one.
只選出一個很難。
8.1It's hard to do sth.干某事困難。
9The main thing is to know yourself and to choose the right path for you.
最主要的是要了解你自己，並為自己選擇正確的路。
9.1The main thing is to do sth.主要的事情是干……
9.2know yourself 了解自己。
9.3choose the right path for sb.選擇適合某人的路。
10What will I be when I grow up?
我長大以後會做什麼？
11 I hope to be a good teacher like Ms. Liu.我希望成為一名像劉老師一樣的好老師。
11.1like Ms. Liu介詞短語作後置定語。
12She is strict but nice.
她很嚴格但是人很好。
12.1strict的用法
①strict作為形容詞意為嚴格的；絕對的；精確的；詳細的。
French privacy laws are very strict.法國的隱私法非常嚴格。
②strict常用於:
i.be strict with sb.對某人要嚴格
My parents are very strict with me.我的父母對我很嚴格。
ii.be strict about sth.對某事要求嚴格
Tom is strict about his work.湯姆對他的工作要求嚴格。
13She encourages us to work hard,but she never punishes us.
她鼓勵我們努力學習，但是她從不懲罰我們。
13.1encourage sb. to do sth.鼓勵某人干某事。
13.2punish v.處罰、懲罰，須後接懲罰的對象
He shouldn't punish her.
他不應該懲罰她。
She promised not to punish me.
她承諾不處罰我。
①punish sb. for (doing) sth.因為（做）某事處罰某人
Ms White punished me for being late for school.
懷特小姐因為我上學遲到而懲罰我。
Her parents punished her for lying.
她的父母因為她撒謊而處罰她。
②punish sb. by/with doing sth.通過做某事懲罰某人。以……懲罰某人，by/with後接處罰的方式或手段。
She punished Jack by not letting him eat anything.
她通過不讓他吃東西來處罰傑克。
14Her classes are fun!
她的課很有趣。
15What are you going to be when you're older, Danny?
你長大之後想做什麼，丹尼？
15.1be good at (doing)sth.擅長(干)。某事
15.2when引導時間狀語從句。
16You are good at playing basketball.你很擅長打籃球。
17You would be a good basketball player, I think.我想，你會是一個很棒的籃球運動員。
17.1I think若加在後面，用逗號分開；若加在前面，則不需要的。
18Are you taller this year?
你今年長高了嗎？
